This is getting crazy. Gold prices have gone up so much that ppl are having a hard time coming up with coins for gold or items. What is the price for gold now? 400k? ?tfw Noobs are going to have a very hard time as well i mean there needs to be a person who has single authority on this matter. Maybe a PWI stock exchange or something... Any-who Let me know your thoughts.

    No thank you, we already have Auction House.

    Gold will sell for as much as someone is willing to pay.

    Also, 400k is nothing compared to other games, so new players will feel gold and cash items are very cheap.
    Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.

    People were saying that back in the days of 150k gold prices, and it's that mentality that is going to doom our gold prices.

    Anyways the idea is to get gold at a high price so that the majority of players cant afford it thus meaning they are more likely to use the cash shop.

    Besides, I wish it was 400k. It is about 450-500k on LC...and people are still buying it.

    Its not a mentality, it is a fact that PWI has one of the lowest RL money to in-game coin exchange rate of pretty much any MMO.

    I play games where the ratio is 1 dollar = 100million in-game coins. Other games are 1 dollar = 5 million (those are the cheap ones), most seem to average 10million in-game per dollar.

    Also, in most of those games, the vast majority of the CS items cannot be traded, and those non-tradable CS items give HUGE benefits to the CS user.

    In this game every single CS item can be sold for in-game coin, so it is by far the most leveled playing field I have seen out there. You have 2 choices, you grind alot and buy CS stuff/Gold from other players, or you work alot, and charge your cc to get gold. All and all, it works out pretty good for everyone involved.

    And then there are games like maplestory where all cashshop items are purely customic, and nothing sold affects gameplay. Yet it has the largest user base of any ftp mmorpg, and manages to make money. Games are different, and companies are different.

    Thats because people have no choice in the mater.

    I am with FoxXx on this one....

    You people are like the freaking Oil Companys..... Gas use to be 25 cents a gallon now look at, they almost hit $5 last summer just for a gallon of gas...

    Maybe I'll buy 500 gold and sell it for 50K apiece then we'll see who has better business.... i will have more coins than all of you from that.

    you cant compare prices between games. i have played games where i could make $200/hour easily by selling drops. (yes $200 real life money out of the cash shop) or if you want to compare coins billions/day.

    Considering that gold is meant to be purchased with "Real Cash"

    no..

    the idea that you can purchase gold with in-game coin is a cool idea
    i love it
    but it's really just an extra

    monitoring prices just destroys the games idea of a free market

    i mean if you think about it
    the prices going up and down
    just make the game more realistic

    WHY would I want an MMO to be "realistic"


    I don't want my character to be all, you've been underwate for ten minutes, you drowned and died. Or, you fell from too high, you died. I can't use lightning strike no such thing as magical lightning.

    And to people that say it's "just an extra"

    try doing certain things without a charm. Try lasting in PvP with +0 weapons and armor. Try PKing without dolls or binding charms, yea I know it can be avoided by not PKing but PKing is part of the game design and if you say you can avoid cash shop use by not doing most activities in the game then your left sitting in arch twiddling your thumbs doing nothing.

    It's possible to pvp without the things you said, or use charms for pve things. However that would require people to actually learn how to play their class to its fullest. Everyone is too lazy to do that and instead prefers to hide behind the cash shop.

    let me put it in words that you can understand...YOU CAN NOT COMPARE ECONOMIES BETWEEN GAMES EVER. how many coins/hour you can farm is different on every game. the ratio of cash shop users to noncashshop users is different on every game. the only thing that is the same on every game is when an economy balloons out of control there will always be a mass exodus of people out of the game until it is closed down.

    should they get involved? thats up to them. if they feel they are losing too many people due to rising prices then yes they should. if they think its only a few whiners then they should stay out of it for now.

    I know how to play my class.


    Yet if I run into another archer the same level as me who has a charm and fully refined gear then if he even has the slightest idea how to play his class then I'm screwed, my only hope is to use stun arrow to tick his charm and hope a metal attack crits or to (and this is rare) do more than 50% damage with one shot but then again if the archer knows how to play his class then he probably used wings of grace or wind shield before I attempted to do that.


    But hey I'm only 7x (almost 8x) so most people I met havne't refined thier gear heavily.


    Let's see what happens when I'm 9x uncharmed with unrefined equips going against charmed people with full +6 gear with a +9/+10 weapon.

    Dont rush to conclusions, just because i spend $10-20/month in the cash shop doesnt make me rich, far from that. The rich people are not the ones that can afford to use the cash shop, but the top players in top factions and the ones that are really good at playing the markets....and these players never have to pay real money either.

    Also on a side note, if the average player could have the same things without a prepaid card, as another player with a prepaid card....then what would be the point to ever buy prepaid cards.....


    I understand your frustration because your in-game life got harder and im sorry for that, but its not the fault of cash shop/prepaid card users, sorry.
    Its nobody's fault, its just the result of the game evolving and so many players getting high level and in high factions that are making a tonn of coin in the game, so they can afford to buy gold at whatever price.

    Well im not a price jacker, i aint loaded at all (wish i was :P), and i dont care for the stock exchange idea either...so where should i vote? b:sad

    You just gotta learn how to play with it. I'm betting for example that a week after this event is over gold will slowly decline until the new expansion comes out where the gold prices will again skyrocket. I'm planning on buying some gold with coins(cuz i don't use real money) 2 weeks before the expansion and then sell it during the high prices. I had 20 gold from doing this before this birthday event. I've bought mats for like half my hh70 gear, got a swiftshadow and still have a few mill. You gotta learn to play with prices. Don't let them manipulate you. You manipulate them!
