Sage/Demo venomancer

idk because im not a lvl 89+ veno but all i can say is that each have they're own good boosts and i think pick which suits ur needs most.

sage is better for PvE, demon is better for PvP

sage provides highly stable and average extra abilities and effects, that are geared more towards PvE than PvP

demon provides highly unstable extra abilities, but the instability is balanced by being MUCH stronger than sage effects, and are geared towards PvP, but can be useful in PvE during various situations


this is purely from viewing what they provide, and applying it in estimated form upon my own experiences

That sums up my thoughts on it.

I wasn't entirely consistent with adding in the extra average crit damage from demon or extra wood from sage on every skill, but it's close enough. Keep in mind though, my perspective is arcane and almost entirely PvE.

I chose Sage on my Venomancer. I like to TW, and AoE Debuff is just too good to pass on. In general, I find that Sage of any class works better in squads, and Demon works better solo.

I often get asked what is better since we have a lot of people hitting 89 shortly in the faction. I just keep saying they are both better. Pick what you like best.

I'm Demon Veno (caster), and I really love it. The only thing that I would kinda miss from sage is the def boost from fox form because I'm in fox from often in TW~

I preferred the physical def boost in foxform, and more consistent damage compared to the randomness of demon.

I would say Sage for Fox without QUESTION due to its SERIOUS benefits towards many Fox Skills (Leech & Fox Form alone make the case. Demon Fox Form speed boost = irrelevant to a Fox Veno).

For Casters it may well be better to go Demon though and the Op sounds like a Caster to me.

Sage offers too many benefits to ignore that people overlook....

(Lucky Scarab) 3 seconds in stun is a bigger difference than you think. Between my 3 second stun the nix's 3 second stun then 7 seconds in expel( only if needed :-P ) the person is dead...

Sage Spark is, i think, the strongest sage/demon spark in PWI, if youre a caster of course :-P

Increased phys def in fox (my phys def is greater than my magic def in fox mode (and yes Im arcane :-O )

Soul Degeneration and Amp: How can you beat the -20% HP?! and THEN an additional 30% amplify?! Come on, this alone almost negates the benefits of the demon's "additional spike damage". (And yes, you can use them at the same time, i have em...)

Wood Mastery more consistent damage! Thats what Sage is about! Consistency! If you go Demon and PvP, you are gonna sit there hoping to get that "spike" to kill someone.

Personally, I'd rather rely on consistent dmg that i can use to KNOW when I'm going to kill someone, not guess when it will happen. (Best analogy for this: Do you like using a Pataka/Glaive bc it has higher peak dmg but also possibility of low damage (AKA a wide spread) or do you prefer to use magic swords/wands for their consistent dmg).

Of course everyone has their own opnion, good luck making yours. I just dont like it when people say that demon is the way to go if you PvP, because that is soooo not the case b:victory

Fried or grilled? Both are good, but grilled is goooooooooooood.

Honestly, both sides are good. And with this event, many more skills are available. Although on Lost City, mostly people get the demon Veno books for sellback instead of Sage so there are less of them on the market.

I was torn between the two at early 80s. But I just decided to go with Demon for the speed so I can AFK more in FBs while I waited for people to catch up. And cause the only time I use Fox is to Purge or Amp.
