Someone in sanc forums had posted about ideas, I posted it there then thought...a server page wont get anything done. I doubt anything will be done at all but I'll throw it out there, at least for discussion purposes.

I'm sure this wouldnt be the best idea, but it is one I had since the beginning of inflation. Make the boxes rarer to get, and make the reward 6 gold. Yes they probably not want to give away gold but think about it. They got someone to pay 5 bucks...why not give them 6 bucks worth of gold for it AND the item they had to get from RB, cube, or frost or w.e must be gotten to reward that. I think people would buy hammers left and right, people could still sell the boxes if they wanted. I doubt anyone would sell the boxes unless they couldnt afford the 5 gold for hammer because they could, if nothing else, sell 6 gold after. It would be a way to get more cash shop use and tada a use for chests and hammers.

So true...i have 7 Boxes and its totaly waste for ppl who cant charge zen. Like they have to buy a hammer for 2,5mil to get 1mil b:chuckle

Anyway..i think also that one hammer has to be free for lvl50 players. They cant afford to open their stash anymore...!!!

Um, because one person would pay $5 and then no one else would ever pay to buy gold ever again?

Open a box, buy a new hammer, keep the $1 rinse wash and repeat.

actually they would get alot less cash shop use, because people just need to get 5 gold to open the first chest. after that first one, they could save 5 gold for the next one and still have 1 gold to save for whatever item they want from cash shop. so they will never have to buy gold again.. (if they aren't in a hurry b:chuckle)

    edit: damn to slow

2.5m to open your level 50 supply stash and get your general summers weapon is absolutely crazy. The next two stashes give a flawless gem and 5 do-alls, made next to worthless thanks to the event. Not even your lv70 or 80 weapon is likely to cost you 2.5m, add to that you can't refine or re-sell the thing after. All level 50's I know have been forced to survive on NPC and go straight to TT60.

The cash reward idea is messed up. All it does is inflate gold to crazy proportions and flood the economy with coin. I'd love to know how many gold hammers pwi are selling right now anyway. Certainly no one is opening cube boxes. Whoever does marketing strategy for pwi should have been fired a long time ago lol.

These chests are stupidity at its best, even more so considering they came out along the notion that GMs wanted to 'drain coins from the economy'. Draining by handing out 1M coin chests and illegal gambling with jolly jones? Its ****.

The problem is, there is no solution for these chests unless you give them a choice: Open with hammer, get 1M. Sell at npc, get 100k.
A - Chests will finnaly become a reward. Since you earn it by finishing PvE events, you are entitled to get at least something out of it instead of something to take a vault slot.
B - 100k is more than enough, and once PWI stops these weekly predatory sales and gold value drops, some ppl will bother to buy hammer to open chests. So, PWI will sell mroe gold.
C - PWI will still force a minimum gold price (190k), but at least the chests dont become useless during sales, which happen all the time nowadays.

Aside from removing them from game and help keep some of the players quitting to stay (which is by far the best thing they could do), making it possible selling chests at npc for 100k will be the next best thing.

PS: Please dont say "but you're injecting more coins in game". PWI 'NEVER' cared about draining coins from the game, why should the players? Its a player reward people. You shouldnt have to waste money to get it.

Technically the perfect hammer version injects even more coin into the system anyway than merely npc'ing for 100k. By converting 5 real life dollars you add +1m coin into the server. It's simply 1m added, none of it is sunk or lost in the process. Even if you spend ingame coin to buy gold, you merely transfer your coin to another player and only sink the auction fee.

As Vitenka points out, the idea won't work as stated, since you can just cascade the extra Gold from one box to the next. Effectively it would mean PWI would be giving away 1 Gold per box, and directly giving away Gold would undermine their entire business model.

Sure, Gold would become massively deflated and dirt-cheap, but the result would be in six months we'd be wondering why PWI shut down all the servers and closed up shop.

A variation on your idea, however, is still possible. They could offer some sort of Zen discount voucher instead, similar to the recent Frost Covered Ground promotion. The voucher could give you 600 Zen for the price of 500 Zen. There would have to be adjustments to how their billing system works in order to make it work smoothly, and also a lot of players would fume over the fact that such vouchers would be worthless for free players.

    Just out curiousity...

more coins in game rises the gold price? We have more to spend so we are willing to buy gold for 450k? To establish economy back to normal, they should decrease coins in game?
    Effect (possible):

    - We get all poor and the gold price sinks automaticly
Either we realise it or not..we (i don't say its me, i mean players) will FEEL the effect at least and stop buying gold --> gold price sinks

With that a lot of ppl gonna get mad..but hey isnt it that what we want? As well since we cant manage the economy by ourselve, its a drastic way to cut off ppl off coins.
But then this effect will last LONGER and establish a fair economy!

Other oppertunity is they increase coinsflow in game
    Effect (possible):

    - We get more coins of mobs or quests. We start to spend more, we can afford gold and items. Gold prices stay as they are.

With that a lot of ppl get happy, but the effect lasts only for short timebeeing! The prices for gold adapt the new coins flowing in game and rises up again.

Since they tried already the second possibilty and it sucked up...even tho its gonna hurt, i think the one which is lasts longer is the best stragedy?

There's a problem with the Hammers? Oh, they're not selling well enough, because they're useless?

Simple solution: Have each Coin Box open for 2.5 Million Coins!

    Problem solved.

Why not just make the hammers last longer? Make the hammers have 2 or 3 uses. That could solve a great many problems. Although, it could cause others, but at least the stashes won't be any problems, since one hammer can be used for both the lvl50 and lvl80 stash, which would make a great number of people happy.

I don't care how... but just make those goldprices go down!
if the goldprices will go down, prices for hammers will go down too. and all cash shop items actually...
I still haven't opened my lvl 50 supply stash yet. and it seems no one can sell me some reset-all notes...
all prices have gone terribly up, herc or nix..? well... let's just not start about that T.T

CoinChests are the MOST STUPID addition to the Game , specially if we have to consider them as 'rewards' Reward my butt , just take that **** off there, coinchests reached the retardest point just about now, when to open one to get 1 million you need to pay 2.5millions WTF!! how more **** of a reward this can be.
