Should Low level mobs attack high level players?

Here's what I'm Proposing... The Aggro Mobs in pw don't automatically attack you if you've got like 50+ levels on them, call it mob self preservation, Does it really make sense for a level 5 Aggro mob to attack a level 90+ player on a mount?.. I don't think so.. It's Just silly. At that level difference the mobs shouldn't aggro after you.. Except in Fbs and such, but those are elite mobs anyways, so that's different :P Whatcha think?

And why is this a problem? First if you have 50+ levels on them they won't make a dent on you. Second if you are a Veno you sometimes want the mob to aggro on you so you can level up your new pet faster.0 -
yep i do agree with Viper(since nooby mob really doesn't make much difference to me..if he agros on me i just squat him if he annoys me too much if not then i just go on my merry way).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Yeah, I kind of agree. It's annoying getting randomly knocked off your mount, or interrupted when trying to farm something in a low level area.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Evict is a sexy chalupa.

I'm Mentioning this because I'm tired of getting knocked off my hellhound by mobs "that won't make a dent on you" it's so annoying when you're mining, and these Silly mobs chase you all over the place, just to Disrupt your mining, then run back to where they came from, I'm not saying it's dangerous, At all, I'm saying it's Sooo Annoying[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Those were my thoughts as well, but in the end it's not really that big of a deal.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thanks for the sig Ophida0 -

Do you have your mount loyalty maxed? It shouldn't be that easy to be knocked off.
Anyway it seems like there is both a plus and minus to this. I kinda like being able to aggro a whole bunch of low level mobs and kill them off in a flash to help a lowbie friend with a quest or to level my low level pet.0 -
Heh... yes, it's maxed <.< And the reason why I find it so annoying, is the Amount of mining I do... I do alot, so that multiplys the times this little Annoyance occurs.. and ya, it's useful to be able to aggro those low level mobs.. Soo.. I have a suggestion :P Make a little option for it, like a checkbox, Low level aggro/no low level aggro.. Simple and easy :P[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

However low level mobs going after you.. in the first place, isn't realistic, sure it saves time and everything.. I'm Completely willing to go the opposite way, Make the little mobbies run away from high levels :P Like normal everyday animals do, doesn't that make more sense?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Again, that could be made into a little checkbox format, Low level mobs run away from players 50+/Mobs ignore level differencials[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

so you think it would be fair if a level 20 has to get knocked off their mount while farming but you can come in and steal the mine behind them? deal with it and quit your whining.0 -

For me just annoying when farming

Think of it realistically, in Real Life.. can a Squirrel Knock you out of your Car? CAuse Really a level 5 mob to me is nothing less then a Squirrel, it should avoid you, not attack you, If it attacks you it dies.. do Squirrels attack you? And if they did.. wouldn't you Just Kill it?.. that's my Point, it doesn't make sense For low level mobs to just kill themselves like that.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Well just because you have leveled up your char fighting abilities doesn't mean your riding ability has leveled up.
Also I wouldn't expect mob to be intelligent enough to inspect your char and make a determination based on your equipment how high level you are and go "oh no a 9X run away...". There are many players that can't estimate that well.0 -
but that's EXACTLY what they should do, cause that's exactly what animals do, If you're a normal everyday house dog, which would you attack, the normal house cat? Or the tiger beside it? I think it's a no brainer, the dogs not going to attack something that's Clearly too dangerous for it, honestly people haven't you ever watched discovery channel?
For example.. Coyotes Find and Kill an Already injured Gazel, and start feeding on it, But oh wait, what's this a hyena sonters Forward to Steal the food away from the Scrawny, scraggly pups, Now... Guess what happens... The Hyena Takes the Gazel, and eats it... and the coyotes leave it alone.. Youtube it, I don't care, it will happen like that over and over... It DOES happen like that, they Judge the situation as :hey, I'm hungry, and Hey, I might get Killed, NOT Oh look, a something, lets go attack it.. I'm just saying it wouldn't hurt to have the OPTION, of actually haveing intelligent mobs, rather then Brainless Drones who'll attack anything that gets close enough[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

and thats what some mobs do. some mobs dont attack anything unless they are attacked first. you can compare them to your average dog/smart animal that wont prey on anything that might be too strong for them.
agro mobs are like a rabid animal. does a rabid dog know any better than to attack someone with a shotgun pointed at it? no they do not. they will charge right in because their base instincts tell it to attack and kill. that is the same as your agro mobs. doesnt matter to them how strong or outmatched they are because their base instincts are telling them to kill.
so you have your smart mobs(nonagro) and your rabid mobs(agro).0 -

Those "Smart mobs" wouldn't attack a Little bug going past them (Potential Prey) they aren't smart mobs, they are just non aggro, and if it were up to me, i'd have everything aggro, not just some mobs, but I'd put a turn off low level aggro mobs option into it too[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

this is a perfect world remember? there are no little bugs.0 -
Oh come on, another one of these mount-riding farmers complaining about their life being "hard"? Yeah right, I care, a lot.
In fact, I find it really annoying that farming mats on mounts is made easier than farming mats on an aerogear, as there's the air-to-ground penalty and whatnot. If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.
Everyone wants to be different, but when you're different you wish you were normal.0 -
As a Barbarian, the short tooth kittens just can't take me, even though I've only got 13 levels on them. It would take 3 to kill me, and eve then I have to just stand there and take it to die. My HP recovers too quickly. However they cause enough damage to interrupt me when I'm digging up some iron, then while I'm fighting somone else takes itb:angryb:angryb:angry
I say that aggro mobs should stop when the player has 30+ levels on them. Even elites will have a lot of trouble killing someone with 30 levels on them. 30 is much more reasonable. However I think that elites should aggro no matter what the level.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Aggro mobs should aggro no matter what the level of the player. It helps keep the player involved and not just on autopilot.
Besides a lvl 1 player looks exactly the same as a level 100 player. Only the equipment is different. Since levels aren't shown even to other players, why wouldn't un-intelligent mob aggro on a high level char.0 -

Ahem... you might want to correct yourself... a level 89+ player has something you don't, and it's a Fairy, you can't hide it, if you have it, that's what seperates them, ooo, maybe after you get a Fairy low level mobs should leave you alone, that would be a good bonus I think.. cause my little fairy Doesn't do anything except look pretty :P[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

And Also with that statement, why wouldn't a mob notice alot better equipment on something, put it this way.. who do you think is more formidable if you run into them in the wilderness, a Caveman, or someone with Glowing auras surrounding them, with a Big giant Glowing Genie Whirrling around them, with a weapon that's bigger then you are. Hmmm?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

well, that's a good Idea too, 30+ levels, with no elite differences, It's okay with me really.. but Still, I think that would make it much too easy, cause even a level 70 mob can be dangerous to high levels if we don't pay attention[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
