There is a wizard in my guild that insists on heavy armor because she doesn't want to be squishy. And she won't listen to either myself or the level 86 wizard, or any of the 7x, 8x clerics.

Just wanted to rant a bit, and share a failure story with ya'll.

    HA wizards are strange, but some ppl think they are worth it.

    I've been hearing about the HA wiz lately as being a suicide bomber in TW.
    Seem like this becomes more and more popular on Chinese/Japanese servers. Seems that the nuking with emberstorm is worth it, but I dunno...
    Prolly those are wizzies raised with scrolls, from lvl 1 to 80 in like 2 weeks or so and serve to 1 purpose. But that's totally different from playing one on daily bases.

    for heavy, just put enough str and dex for armor, and the rest in vit. socket w/ hp shards, refine really high, and use ember storm as ur main move and u'll own HA ^^. if u pair up w/ a bm u can Heaven's Flame and emberstorm at the same time to one shot MANY ppl at once. but untill u get emberstorm to a high lvl, it would be weak.

    and yes, this is an actual build =P
    i'm the one spinning in their chair, eating a ring-pop, wondering y the world hates broccolie so much... but loves it w/ cheese O.o... mabye we all should wear cheese to be better ppl. (Yes!!.. One more step to RUULING the worldb:thanks)

    that is not bad, not bad at all for lvl 90 wiz. It's full buffed, so let's say in TW configuration but I see why some might give this a thought. His attack full buffed is = my attk not buffed, true, at 88 and with TT80 wpn, but still, nothing to be ignored.
    82% phys reduction
    65% mag reduction
    6.4k HP.
    6.1-6.8k magic attk.
    this build is a nightmare for archers/BMs. but will fall as a rock against Full int mages and clerics.
    But in TW clerics have other jobs than to DD, so the only worry is another mage. Since we're not that many anyway chances for one to own you are low.
    Looking at this a little bit I can see why some high lvl veno for example will raise an alt like this.

    also I guess that build would be scary in TW no one would expect it and mages would prefer to attack the archers, clerics, and bms instead of another wizard which would give HA the element of surprise ish. probably would surprise alot of archers who try to kill the HA wizard lol.

    I've seen Venos in full HA gear and using wands their level around Lost City. It probably won't be so hard for them to finance a pure PvE robe/light wizard, then restat and switch gear at higher levels.

    Heh this further show's how HA is just OP against the other 2 armor types. The mag def ain't that much lower compared to LA but the phy is more than double,and mag is more than 3 times less than AA but the phy difference is huge,not to mention much higher hp refines. That mag res you had is not far from a 90 + LA caster's mag res with 2 phy ornaments,but the phy is much much higher.

    If we weren't needed to be the main mag DDs in this game or if we had another source of dmg,I'd actually think about going HA wiz lol. Venos rely on their nix to do most dmg so I guess they can sacrifice their own attack for more survivability.

    HA is terrible imo

    Far less damage - compare undined and ulti crits, for example
    HP isn't as high as it would need to be to withstand other mages
    Probably can't kill archers but they can kill you with metal spell crits
    Fully buffed at 96+ with good refined ornaments, 10k pdef is easily managable while maintaining good mdef, while not sacrificing tons of power

    Successful for veno's since they have a pet.
