Wizards and PVP

I usually play wizards on every game. I am not a mainly PVP player but I do enjoy doing it every now and them. It is true that wizards are the worst PVP class in the perfect world? How do wizards compare with other classes in terms of PVP and general gameplay experience?

    You will have a hard time at the first 60 levels, be it PvE or PvP. Then you get some more advantages in PvE and you will be able to do some nice damage in PvP as well, tho for the latter you usually still die too fast to be any good. At arround 80+ you can compete in pvp with most other classes and at 100 with good refines some people consider mages as overpowered as they can achieve good defenses/hitpoints with very good attack power.

    If you are looking for party-play experience, wizards are the worst. Except Rebirths (some quests at higher levels) people rarely want a wizard in their squad.

    Lvl 1-60 pvp as a wiz basically just blow's . 60-79 is somewhat better due to your 59 skills but still blow's.79 -90 if you get some 79 skills(undine strike mainly) will be better again but you will still feel underpowered. 90+ this is where wizards finally start to shine.

    It's basically the hardest,most challenging (very fun if you like that,I do) class to play which is good late game. You need to be smart,have good timing on skills,knowledge of others skills to counter them or else you'll suck no matter what lvl you are,even 100. But if you really do all those,you'll find it's a very fun class that hold's the most possible combos to be made,you need to be creative as well .

    It's a pretty costly ,skill depending class,you need to be up to date with most of your skills to actually do something.

    If you intend on playing for a long time, and get to high levels, then a wizard can be somewhat fun to play. But honestly, even at my level, I'm hardly overpowered even though I have good gear... but I'm not useless anymore either.
    Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

    Most of the time, these people never really learn how to use their class well. They'll say it's bad due to that.

    Friend of mine has a wizard who solo grinds and outlevels everyone. He never had any trouble at all and hes nearly 70. He keeps telling me about how easy the class is. He had to ask me for help on certain quests for his cleric, those same quests on his wizard he did not need help.

    I would like to be good in PVE and not to be a super PVP machine but at least not to suck big time in PVP. Is hybrid build ok for me. I mean:

    Every two levels:

    +1 vitality (vit)

    +1 strength (str)

    +8 magic (mag)

    It's wrong to say it's an easy class to play,it is actually the hardest out of all 6 but like I said it's very challenging and those who like challenges will love this class. I loved "playing around" with all skills,combining them,stuff like essential sutra + lvl 59 moves,1st/2nd spark eruptions with sutra or even sage/demon with chi pots or 1st spark/59 moves/sutra with chi pots + many many others.

    And it is the worst class if your the easy going type,your gonna regret your PWI days if that's the case and you choose a wiz. Although allot of ppl are regretting their PWI days now due to all these sales anyway.

    That can be good as some vit early lvls won't be bad,the hp from vit mean's much more at those lvls than it does at higher. And I guess that won't gimp your dmg much that early,although know that the later the game goes,vit on a wiz is just plan stupid,60-90 it's best to switch to light armor build,it really shine's at those lvls.

    BTW why are you posting here? This thread should be moved to the wiz forums.

    Killing mobs on a wiz isn't exactly hard to do.... what takes skill on a wiz is pking people. Any class can do quests easily.

    If you're a wizzy and want to PvP at lower levels (as in below 90 where TT90 arcane helps a lot), then LA is the easiest way to go. You'll be at a disadvantage against pure arcane PvP wizzies but there aren't many of those pre-90, and you'll stand up a lot better to the phys attack classes than a robe wearer. If you stick with arcane you have to work harder...

    Then again, I've been PK'ing since around lvl 6x and I've always been a PureInt robe wearing glass cannon - much more funb:laugh
