1 character per server?

Hey, I just started the game and created a character on one server...today that server is not online and my character doesn't appear on any other server...are characters unique to each server? or was my character erased?

    1 person pre server you have so many on 1 server but they can not be transfer over to another server

    When you create a character on Server A that character will ONLY be on Server A.

    You can create a New Character on Server B (which will also be unique to that server Only).

    So you can have multi characters on multi servers but they will only be on the server you created them on.

    I have 3 chrs on sanctuary, and the "list" looks like it could hold more. So i suspect you can have way more than 1 chr per server, but the chrs are serverbound. And you can only have 1 client open at a time (or is mine just bugged somehow?), so you can't powerlevel your own chrs or play them as a squad/whatever.
