Unable to repair shattered gear

First, I read the patch notes. That said:

I have a shattered wand and it calls for 2 mirage celestones to repair. I've taken them to every NPC and the elders and when I go to repair shattered gear, the celestones say 2/2 but it's red and won't let me repair. Why?

I'm not sure just guessing but do you have appropriate level of blacksmith skill? I don't know if you need blacksmith level for repairing shattered stuff, so I just guessing.

You may have to drag the celestones into the box on the repair screen. This is a guess as i have yet to experience shattered gear, i have however seen some items that you must do this when manufacturing.
Think that if people put half as much effort into playing as they did QQing then they would enjoy the game regardless! b:victory

Well upon re-reading the Shattered Gear Sticky at the top I have come to the conclusion that everything you did seems to be right, Except you might be using the wrong stone to repair with. The following quote is why I think you need other stones to repair. If it drops Chi stones, maybe it needs Chi stones to repair. I could be reading it wrong, but thats my view of it.

    Quoted from Sticky:
Q: My gear has been damaged. How do I know what types of stones will be dropped?
A: Weapons, armor, accessories, flying mounts and tomes are the five types of equipment that can be shattered.
For weapons, armor, and accessories, the items dropped is determined by the normal decomposition system, ranging from Yiyuan Stones to Mirage Celestones.
For flying mounts, the drops are Mirage Celestones; the quantity is determined by its flying speed.
For Tomes, the drops are Mirage Celestones.

When I go to repair, it calls for two mirage celestones. You can hover over the mat requirements to get the name/description. It says "Mirage Celestone." Also, if it was wrong, it wouldn't show 2/2. Guess a GM is gonna have to figure this one out. I have a new weapon now, but I don't want to go through this in the future. I repair my gear often, but that doesn't make me invincible to breakage.

Wait, did it actually shatter from being pvp'd by another player, or simply run out of endurance? Sorry if it seems a silly question, just making sure ^^

(I tried and if I drag my undamaged calamities into the "repair shattered gear" slot, it comes up 8/8 mirages below, but in red)

When you mouseover the item, and the tooltip appears, how many mirage celestones does it say you need to repair? Could you provide a screen shot either here or send a support ticket in? Thanks!

I have since gotten a new weapon, but it says 2/2. It required 2 mirage celestones. I was never able to fix it. It was damaged from normal wear (actually too many oracles in a row ^.^'). I was not in PVP mode.

I can't provide screenshot because I no longer have that weapon. If it ever should happen again, I will post.

the gear didn't shatter. shatter only happens in pvp

Well, the same thing happens to me... The item repairing needs 15 yiyuan stones only, and i have 316. This means I DO have the required materials, even surpass the number. Still, I get red numbers and repair button doesn't work. I hope some admin can answer me please...b:cry

    *facepalm..

perhaps you didnt read the patch notes properly then.

even before the "gear shatter" patch, weapons and armor have been prone to breaking when their durability reaches 0/xxx. You can see the durability of any piece of equipment when you mouse over it. To fix a broken piece of equipment - talk to a blacksmith, tailor, crafstman, apothecary, or merchant - go to "trade" and then click "repair all". I recommend doing this every time you come back from questing/grinding to keep your gear topped off in durability.

"gear shatter" only applies to PvP deaths - I thought that was perfectly clear in the patch notes. The new "repair equipment" option at the various NPC's was not added until that patch - so this is the wrong option for something that is simply broken due to reaching 0 durability.

    REPAIR. NOT THE SHATTER SYSTEM.

    http://pwi-wiki.perfectworld.com/index.php/ItemsWearOut

To repair an item that isn't equipped (repair-all won't work) you just click 'repair' instead of repair all. Your cursor turns into a little hammer, and you click on the item in your inventory that you want to repair.

You know, I don't think I remember seeing that explained anywhere. It's utterly obvious if you've ever played any rpg before ever, but it ought to be written in the official guide somewhere.

This is both a thread hijack AND a necro, both of which are bad. b:angry

Please read the "PWI Community Forums: Rules of Conduct v1.0 - read meh!" thread, especially the post I linked directly to there.

In short, don't discuss topics in threads that are irrelevant to the original topic (mounts have nothing to do with shattered/broken gear) and do not post in threads that haven't been posted to for over 30 days.

But, on to your question: I'm assuming this is a ground mount? In which case you just need to find a Pet Manager and hatch the egg into your Pet Bag. Then you'll be able to ride your mount by clicking on the icon for it, which you can drag out of your Pet Bag window and onto a speedbar.

If were not PvP'ing, then it probably wasn't "shattered," just worn out. All it probably needed was a simple repair from a vendor.

I tried that one, (talking to a merchant and getting all my gear repaired (it doesn't work with red icon items.)).

next problem is searching for a thread that explains what drops what kinds of celestones so i can fix my shattered weapons...

P.S. why is it so difficult to get them anyway?

    TIA

It sounds like it wasn't "shattered", it's simply worn out. Gear doesn't shatter from normal wear, it only happens when you are killed in PvP combat.

Just go to almost any NPC with a "Goods" option, select "Goods", click the "Repair" button, then click on the Axe and it will restore the durability if you have enough coins.

If the gear was shattered then you would have dropped some number of chi stones. The number needed to repair the shattered equipment is the number of chi stones + 20%, and the same type of chi stones are needed. For more see Shattered Gear at the PWI wiki.

Also, please don't necro. Posting in threads that have been dead for over 30 days is a big no-no. Next time, if search doesn't find you a solution, please start a new thread. Thanks. :-)

so I know this is old and way outdated but I had the same prob tonight, repair all wouldn't fix it, goin to npc's to repair shattered gear showed I needed 5 mirages and I had 21 but could not repair, go back to the blacksmith and instead of fix all select repair, that's what finally worked for me

If it isn't equipped, Fix All won't repair it, but should repair even broken gear that's still equipped. Anything in your inventory (non-equipped) needs to use the Repair hammer to fix.

    And next time, don't necro.

the merchant fix all worked great.
I wonder why I can't repair at a blacksmith or elder though?
I just bought a blacksmith basic skill book and took it to the elder but it said nothing about learning BS skill.
Is that because I am a herbalist?

I had the same problem and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't repair when I had the correct number of stones it required. I finally went to a Merchant and happened to try this:

-Click on the "Repair" button (NOT the "Repair All" button)

-Use that cursor to click on your gear and it will instantly repair.

Wish I would have known ages ago how easy it was, but hope that will help someone. :)

    This looks like a NECRO!

Any thread over one month (30 days) old is considered to be a dead thread and you're not supposed to post in them. The person you are replying to probably doesn't care any more or can no longer be found on the forums. The topic itself could be out of date. Next time just make a new thread.
