Gotta take channeling, available skills, mobs, and levels into account.

heal -> venom scarab -> heal -> venom scarab -> heal -> venom scarab, etc.
I was early taught to work as well as play,
    My life has been one long, happy holiday;
Full of work and full of play-
I dropped the worry on the way-
And God was good to me everyday.

That one works, it's just dull.

    I have used....
(loop), Ironwood, heal, lucky, heal, venomous, heal

Which is also dull, and was vaguely useful when grinding foxwings whilst only level 35 myself.

    I have 3 that I use a lot.

    1. Loop, heal, venomous, heal, venomous, heal, ironwood.
    2. Loop, Befuddle, heal, fox wallop, heal.
    3. Consume, Leech, amplify, fox.

#1 can heal my herc against most fights but not all. I use it the most.
#2 I use for debuffing, primarily with a blinding sand genie. I suspect it would work without fox wallop in there but I haven't tried it yet. My reason for thinking that is because I've noticed if you hold a venomous or heal pet key, the second heal will fire very quickly with a longer pause between the third. That may make it possible to do two heals in a row which provides a long enough timer.
#3 I hit right after I go fox, it takes just long enough for me to go fox, use the skills, and then leave fox.

    Attack only Macro:
"Get behind enemy," Ironwood, Venomous, Blazing, Venomous, Noxious Gas, Venomous, Lucky (and then it will loop back to Ironwood).

I don't use attack/heal macros. They aren't worth my time since I like it a little risky when I grind. =3 And also because some bosses don't allow you the attack/heal option.

    1. Loop, heal, venomous, heal, venomous, heal, ironwood.

I use an identical macro. Great for long boss fights wherein you have more than enough healing, but the fight is going to go on for a long time.

Set it then go make a sandwich/walk the dog/read the forums/whatever.

    I only use two.

    1. Healing Pet macro for some bosses like Dimentora or whatever. Mostly so I can DD and heal.
Loop, Venomous, Heal, Lucky, Heal, Ironwood, Heal
    2. AFK Boss Attacking Macro - For bosses where I DD like Wurlord.
Loop, Venomous, Lucky, Venomous, Ironwood, Venomous, Noxious

whats the loop icon? I never saw that one in there, or am i missing something?

I'll admit that on lower level veno's its pretty hard to use a macro without alternating venomous, heal, venomous, heal etc.. due to the cool down time on venomous being just a tad bit longer than it takes to acutally channel and cast it, sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't. although, im interested in why Brael puts Ironwood at the end of the macro rather than the beginning? Whenever I have the chi for it - Ironwood is my first or second attack (don't let the avatar fool you - I've got a level 70 veno). Depending on mob type, you may wanna try Blazing/Noxious -> Ironwood -> Venomous -> pet heal

any single mob youre fighting should be dead after or before that.
if its a boss fight where I'm only DD'ing - i just put a weight on the venomous button usually.

The "loop" icon is the one with an arrow that appears to be turning in a circle, "get behind enemy" I think is what it say when you roll over it with your cursor.

yeah.. ive seen that one - but never really bothered to use it. does that have the effect of making your macro actually loop? or is to only make you walk behind the enemy?

It loops the whole macro and takes up one of the skill slots so it will short you one skill for your macro.

This is a macro where i only DD (no pet heals):

Loop, venomous, ironwood, venomous, lucky, venomous, blazing.

It works nice with demon venomous scarab b:victory

Yes "Walk behind enemy" has to be the most crazy bit of mistranslation in the whole game. It doesn't make you walk anywhere, it just makes your macro loop.

Total macro newb here, I admit it.

So I just pick that icon and what, type in the skill names I want in that order and that's it?

Is there a way to add in assist at the front of that for hunting with a partner?

You can drag pretty much anything into a macro that you can drag onto a hotbar, so I don't see why 'assist attack' won't work.

Except, testing it, it doesn't. How mildly annoying.

You'd think that switching to fox form would work too, but it doesn't.

No instant skills work, they'll stop the macro so you need them to be last.
