how do i get a mount?

I've looked all through here for the most part... and I see people talking about them sort of but not really exactly how to get them... It's a total noob question I know and its probably something simple but if someone could help by telling me how you go about getting something to ride on so you dont have to run around forever that'd be really awesome.

    You can buy a horse from a NPC (not sure which one), or buy others from player shops, cash shop (alt-o in game), or the Auction house. Some mounts have level requirements so check that carefully before buying one. If you get a mount that is sold in the cash shop then you can also make it run faster and have less of a level requirement by buying the correct spurs that are in the cash shop as well. these can be bought from players also.     Check the wiki out on this site for mounts and npcs sell them for over mil coin or you can get one with gold or copper dragon orb.

    It really is rather expensive. Unless you're willing to buy zen or spend everything that you have, or you just like farming, you won't have that kind of money until later. Personally, I only have that kind of money right now. Even less so if you decide to spend on fashion.

    Your options, from best to worst (in most cases):

    1) If you're a human or untamed, just wait until level 30 and get the flying ability of your race (elves get this automatically at level 1). Technically not a mount, but it gets you around faster and more easily than being on foot.

    2) Right now you could try the Xfire contest, where you will have three tiny chances at winning one for free. Requires very little effort, but low odds of a win too. See here. Other down side, oddly enough, they don't list when this contest is over, or if it's monthly/weekly/???. b:puzzled

    3) Buy one from the Auction House. Prices are a bit more competitive, available mounts are easy to find, and requires no real money, just game coin. Still, mounts often cost into the millions of coins. Anything below 1 million is probably a good deal.

    4) Buy one from a cat shop. Same as #3, but harder to find and prices can be much higher or lower than Auction House.

    5) Buy one from the Boutique. This requires real money, however you get the one you want and you can upgrade its speed.

    6) And, in a tie for last place, you can get an ordinary horse mount for 2,500,000 coin (IIRC) from the Pet Manager or a special horse mount from the Dragon Quest Assistant(?) for 30 Copper Dragon Orders and 30 Silver Dragon Orders. In either case, you could probably buy a better mount at the auction house for the value of what you're spending for these.

    If there are any others I missed (other than someone just giving you a mount), feel free to add them to the list.

    I'm a venomancer and on this type of toon money is very simple

    1: If you let your pet do all the work mostly no repairs (easy 50k returned)

    2: Tame pets and sell them. You can sell rare pets for 1mill each or just catch a series of normal mob eggs and make baby pets: sold for 400-450k each.

    3: Venomancers are easy lol. I made my first 1 mill by lvl 35 all in game and bought a mount. Sold it at lvl 50 and bought the fastest speed mount possible for an awesome 2.2mill.
