Need to know how to use charms?

I haven't figured out how to use these things properly yet I believe. I am a mage and have recieved some stacks of 10 of the magic damage charms from quests I have completed. When I clicked on the 1st stack it went into the spot on my doll next to the weapon slot. I figured everything was fine and went about my business. I then proceeded to kill a mob and the whole stack was gone??? The next stack I got from a quest I decided to do something different. I seperated all 10 of the charms and put a hotkey on my hotbars. I found a mob to kill and hit the key. The charm went into the slot and I proceeded to kill the mob. Everything was fine BUT the hotkey disappaered and I had 9 charns left. So I put another hotkey and the same thing happened all 10 times. So how excatly do you use these things? It seems that stacks of them get used at one time and if it isnt a stack then i need to place each 1 seperately. Any help is appreciated.

You're referring to the damage augmenting charms, which every time you use the relevant attack (magical or physical) it will consume one of them. When you use as many attacks as you've got charms, the charm will dissappear from that slot until you buy or create more.

Thats exactly the type of charms I am talking about BUT they ALL get consumed with 1 spell?? I guess that is not normal?

Yes it is normal and then you replace it.
Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.

No they should get consumed with each hit (whether a spell or melee hit) that you do.

1 charm per spell would be my guess..

Use them on bosses or other unbeatable foe. In other words when you need them the most. They have helped me alot in a couple of occassions.

They're used up at a rate of one charm per attack spell, not one per monster. If you used ten attacks on one monster, then that would use all ten up.

One spell will not use up a whole stack, I'd guess that you just didn't notice how many attacks you did at first. Generally, there's little point in not stacking them unless you have two or more bosses to deal with.

The only reason they were stacked is thats how I recieved them from the quest completion. So I just clicked on them and the whole stack of 10 went into the charm slot. Like I said, I cast 1 spell and the whole stack was consumed for some reason. Maybe I will experiment some and see if I can do the same thing again.
