Humans and Elves begin in the same area?

I am new to the game but I have played other MMORPGs before. I want to create a wizard and my wife (RL) want to create a cleric. Can we play together from level 1 or those races born in different areas?

No you cannot as all your quests are in different areas.Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.0

That will happen with all classes or is a matter of different races?0
-
For levels 1-19, quests are segregated based on race.
Around level 20, everyone converges on Archosaur (central city) and has common quests.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Different races have different starting areas. Nothing stops you from following the other person around and helping, but you won't complete your own quests. Once you get to 20 almost all your quests will be the same, it's just the starting lvls.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

It doesn't matter what you are you all trainin different areas untill reaching lvl20.Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.0

Thanks a lot! By the way how far are the elves and the humans starting areas from each other? Also i would like to know if characters from different races can get married. Again thanks a lot for all your quick answers!0

As long as one is male and one is female anything can marry anything.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Yes you can get married so long as you have a male/female character and a chunk of money.
Only races are separated until level 20, but a cleric and an archer (being elves) would spawn together, a wizard and a BM (being humans) would spawn together, and the same for a venomancer and a barbarian (the untamed race).
A wizard and a cleric is not a bad combination.
Enjoy the game!0 -
One thing you could do is take the cleric and fly them to etherblade (this takes a bit go watch a saturday morning cartoon) and once there you can help the human level to say 20 then go to plume and help the cleric with thiers. Clerics flight time is unlimited and slow but that could work for you. With the adding of genies to the game the extra xp could be siphoned into them to keep them level with you while you both have fun and do your needed quests.0

There is any kind of teleportation we could use at starting levels?0
-
There is a teleport from area to area but you need to have been to the area before and activate the telporter there. At some point before 20 you will be given a quest to go to the other starting areas and those teleport points will be unlocked for you. It doesn't happen until a ways after the start though.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

wow! level 20 sounds like a lot of work for a casual player!0

Level 20 actually doesn't take very long. Even if you don't play very much, you level quickly at the lower levels. You end up having more quests for your level than you need to actually level. It's very fast. ^^[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thank you Skybelle for the wonderful sig
Where did you go, where did you go? How did you know to get out of a world gone mad? Help me let go of the chaos around me, the devil that hounds me. I need you to tell me "Child be still". If the darkest hour comes before the light, where is the light?0 -
wow! level 20 sounds like a lot of work for a casual player!
level 1-20 can be accomplished in ~8-12 hours of non-stop questing, depending on amount of squad-play and knowledge of powerquesting
for a brand new player, i'd say you'll get level 20 in ~2-3 days, playing at a casual pace (casual pace meaning taking your time to get used to the interface, and also actually reading the NPC interactions)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

20 can be done in a weekend. You can get a teleporter and one to take you to etherblade or plume (human/elf cities) do become available before 20 but not sure of exact level. The three major race cities and archasaur or the only free tele locations you get. The rest have to be discovered by going ot the teleporter person in each town and talking to them.
Do realize TPs between major cities is pricey specially at first. TP to the race cities is 1K per TP and 3K to Arch! Hence why I suggest the elf flies to etherblade. You can do that right off and start the flight before lunch.0 -

Clerics would need their skills and at low lvl would not be that effective and there are items they need around Plume.Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.0
