Everytime i go to the log in screen and type my pw and username the login times out every single time i do it... do i need to possibly reinstall PW? or do I need to resart my computer or something of that nature? Please if anyone has a logical explanation or past familiar problems with their accounts, post here with a solution. Thanks.

I'm having a problem just like this too. I've even changed my password to make sure I was typing it right. When I go to log in, it will first try to log me in, time out, then tell me that I had the wrong account or password. I know I didn't because I used the same info to log in the game that I use to log in to the homepage. My info works just fine at the homepage.0

Possibly some missing files. Try verifying all your files.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I have a similar problem, so I'll post here as to not open another thread, if that's ok. I installed, updates and so on, the files were verified by the setup. But every time I type my account and pass and hit the Start button, nothing happens. I'm stuck at the beginning screen, it doesn't log me in...
It briefly writes 'logging into the game' or something along those lines, but... that's all.0 -
I just had a four hours or so verification of the files... found nothing wrong, but the problem persists... A flash of 'Logging into game, please wait', and that was it.0

Had the same problem, but I think I know what's going on.
Go to my thread and look at the latest post.
If that doesn't work try everything else I've done throughout the thread.
Also there is a chance that Kaspersky might be interferring (that is, if you have it) I got the ESET Nod32 antivirus (not all-in-one) and I'm currently updating the game. I'll post back and tell you if it works.0 -
mangomachine, now looking at your posts, I see there's something wrong even with my login box.
Not to mention I have to hit Enter, otherwise the login box won't appear, I just get the - although pretty - useless background.
And no error message.
Now, I downloaded the PFPortchecker: it said the port was not open or not reachable. I manually opened it [I think, at least, I followed the intructions on the Microsoft Help and Support page], but the PFPortchecker still says it's not open or not reachable...
It may be that my ISP provider's port policy is the problem... I can't really get a cheap dial up, I don't have a modem and I don't really want to buy one for one test. I will wait for a friend of mine to install he game, she downloaded it yesterday and she has a different ISP provider.
And to call them to ask them to check the port... gods, that would be a pain...
One more thing, though:
lick Start, and then click My Network Places.
Under Network Tasks, click View Network Connections. (Or, right-click My Network Places on the desktop, and then click Properties.)
Right-click the connection that you use for the Internet, and then click Properties.
Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings.
Note If the Settings button is unavailable, ICF is not enabled on this connection, and you do not have to open any ports (because they are all already open).
[taken from the Microsoft Help and Support Page]. Well, that button _was_ unavailable, but given that PFPortchecker said the port wasn't open, in the end I added the port anyway.
Ah, yes, and I am also using ESET NOD32.0
