How does anyone do this?

First of all, it seems like money is always an issue, especially with the prices of skills. I even stopped doing dailies so I can spend my time grinding making money. Then to get decent gear you need to do a million hh runs to hopefully get the outrageous amount of materials needed to make them. To get into an hh run you need two ultimate substances. To get those you either need a lot of money or a ton of your time to gather the materials needed. I'm not exactly in a hurry, but damn. What a pain in the ****. It's not fun at all doing this. Why can't I just buy my gear? I want to play the game, not waste my time running around doing ****.
How does everyone else get passed doing this and not throw it against the wall and quit like I'm thinking of doing?

So, you basically want everything given to you? Why not just ask for automatic level to 105, +12 gears and g10+ shards in everything?
I was early taught to work as well as play,
    My life has been one long, happy holiday;
Full of work and full of play-
I dropped the worry on the way-
And God was good to me everyday.

Um, so actually killing monsters, gathering items and doing quests is NOT playing the game? Doesn't that only leave PvP and TWs?

You could always decide to spend real money, you can buy most things from the Boutique and if not, you can get Perfect Iron Hammers.

You know, you don't need to always have all of your skills up to date. Personally, I only upgrade skills if I happen to have enough coins and enough spirit on me at the time or if I'm behind quite a few levels.

I started getting coin when I decided that everytime I go over 200,000 on my character, anything over that goes to bank. Right now, I got about 1,240,000 in my bank, just waiting for me to use it on something. Not to mention that I got a +3 W&C socketed with a Flawless Garnet waiting for me in that same bank. Plus, the 190,000 that I got on my character.

And hey, if you were even decently active during the Jolly Jones event, you should have a lot of spare cash. I believe I made something like 300k during the event and over 500k afterwards by selling jiaozi and sesames. And just now, I sold the Supply Stash gem for about 850k, used some of that to buy myself a flawless garnet and put the rest in bank.

Oh, and for the record, I bought my TT60 crossbow.

And hey, the reason I started doing it was because I felt that having 400k on me would tempt me to do something like buying clothes or mats. Sure has helped; even if I do that, I won't be too much behind, a few hours of grinding should get me all of it back. Now I only take out coin if I'm using it on a necessary upgrade, such as a weapon.

    Yes.

    10-Char.

Playing an asian MMORPG just to PvP is ridiculous, not to mention stupid. And besides, starting a game with only the intention to participate in high-level PvP is also rather questionable, as it tends to favor rushing, which creates high level noobs. The way I see it would be to PvE until you get bored and then go to PvP, with the occasional PvE for leveling or money making.

Hate to break it to you, but this is no Final Fantasy, pretty much the only goal is to level up, so you can equip bigger and better gear, and get bigger and better skills, so you can kill more monsters, so you can repeat the process again. There's not really much in terms of plot to be seen. "Running around doing ****" is playing the game.

Hey come on, endgame Final Fantasies are all about perfect stats, perfect items and laughing as the last boss tries to hurt you. Or am I really the only one who's got those 200+ hour saves with attempts at perfect stats and items? Unless, of course, you're talking about FFXI, which I haven't played. But the previously described is what I'm doing in FF7, FF8, FF9, FF10, FF10-2 and FF12.

Well, I suppose FFs get points for having a storyline.

Did I say I wanted everything given to me? No. But it looks like doing HH is the only way to get gear anymore, or doing your fb but my hh70 gear is already better than 3* 80 gear, useless.

Don't get me wrong, doing runs can be fun, but I detest gathering materials. I am here to fight, not to be a gatherer. And I want decent gear, and the only way to get it is if I spend far too much time flying around, competing with other people to harvest these materials. I just want to BUY my armor and get on with doing other things. Never in an mmorpg have I ever had to do this. The option was always there, but in this game you don't have a choice.

Oh I do the same, I'd make a sailor blush with the things I shout during the really annoying bits in Final Fantasy games, like calibrating the towers in X-2, but that's beside the point. Final Fantasy the main goal is to advance the plot and find out how it ends, and then if you're a bit OCD about 100% like I am, you'll also be trying to get all the hidden toys, maxing levels, etc. but the main goal is still the plot.

You can buy pretty much everything from the players if you pay enough. Just because you can also farm a dungeon to get those items doesn't mean that you NEED to do it. For example, I got my TT60 crossbow by buying it instead of doing TTs and I've yet to do even a single TT.

Alright then, I'll buy the materials from other people. Thank you, I hadn't considered that option.

Gathering the materials to craft your armour is really no different from doing a quest to get it. You'd get the quest, go gather the materials you need for it, either from killing monsters, farming, or mining, go back to the NPC, and hand in what you need for it.

You could just buy the ready items themselves. AH has a lot of Twilight Temple items.

Have you tried the Auctioneer? Or if all else fails buy a few telecoustics and announce you're looking to buy the gear.

Yeah I tried the Auctioneer, I didn't stick around for very long though. I can always try again. The teleacoustic announcement is a good idea, I'll try that, too. Thanks.

Depending on the item, it can take you a while. I remember spending a week or so hunting after Sinister Shooter. And I spent a few days looking for Wind and the Clouds.

If you don't like to farm hh just buy good 3 star gear with good stats on it. Until 90 thats how you can get the best stats imo. seriously hh70-80 arcane gear is a joke. Why the **** would a mage need more mp and mag def.

I never farmed my gear its to boring doing HH for specific mats that might not even drop b:surrender. I always farmed stuff that i knew sold for decent money, than bought mats for gear.

Farming TT gear is pointless waste of time before lvl 90. The stats on green 70/80 sucks for casters. Better of just sell the mats to some nub and buy decent moulders or 3 stars. Only you need to farm is a decent TT weapon.

Also you should lvl up a cleric to like 40-50 and have it healing u on a second computer while you grind. Than you don't need hp pots or hp charms and you always have buffs. You really MUST lvl up a second char thats actually wanted and used in parties like veno, cleric or barb. Only having 1 wizard account and nothing else will more or less make u quit game after a while. At higher lvls wizards are not welcome or used in 90% of parties when it comes to farming, so they cant make money at all.

Make a veno. My Veno is level 35 and I already have 1.3 million. Veno's make great money, especially if you're the LA build, then you have no need to upgrade pet skills XD

This is PWI, it's called Twilight Temple - TT for short, not HH. If anything annoys me in this game its that exactly D=<

    ...

    BUY THE DAMN MATERIALS INSTEAD!!

You don't have to hunt down every piece on your own - you CAN buy all of them from others in the game. Trust me - if there's something you want, there's someone who will sell when given sufficient amounts of virtual money.

And if you're going to whine about how "it costs an arm and a leg", then please go play a western MMORPG instead.. Because obviously, asian MMORPGs require too much of an effort from you.
