Private World Test Server

I believe there should be a "Private World Test Server". This server will include "Next patch updates" so players can test them out. This server will be a small server and will be used primarily for test purposes. Surveys and report bug features will be implemented in order to help improve the accuracy of the upcoming patch.

Stipulations:

1. This server will be "Cleared" of players accomplishments and characters per patch.
2. Players can choose 2 options, start at specified "High Level" or start a new character.
3. A maximum of 2 characters at one time can be created per account to allow server space. Players can delete any of these characters at any time and "try" out a different character.
4. Boutique Gold can not be purchased for the server.
5. Boutique items are free. (Note: Items and characters will be cleared prior to each patch.)
6. There will be 2 servers, 1 PVP and 1 PVE server.
7. Skills cost no experience.
8. Vendor items are free.
9. Players can only test out the test server if their account has been registered for a minimum of 30 days.

Suggestions:

1. Report Bug options will be implemented and will be sent to technical staff to work on the issue.
2. Misuse on the Test server can result in permanent ban to account and characters on other server (Just abide by the rules!)
3. Several different surveys will be implemented, as such as a new button at the bottom right corner for "Surveys" or "?" marks popping upon the screen from time to time.
4. Quests and mobs give additional experience or leveling can be turned off (in case you want to stay at that level for certain purposes).

I believe that this will greatly help prevent bugs from being released on the actual day of patch releases. Also, will be a fun way to test upcoming patch notes.

hmm this would be a good idea so you could have players test out stuff and see if they like it or not and maybe it could be a way you could test out the suggestions people put up and see how we the players actually like them and you don't like unless like a super bug that well ruin something till you have to fix it causing players to get angry and maybe quit making you probly lose money and it safes you money on paying testers to test stuff out for you

Good idea and bad idea.... And you only need one server, set to pvp. It is a test server afterall, and they could just ban your account if you were not testing things.

In on hand it would be nice to give people the chance to test stuff... in the other hand, can you imagene the amount of complaining when something that was tested did not make it to the patch??????

Or the amount of abuse it would be possible by being able to skip the testing and just to try to figure out how to beat lunar/3-3, etc without having to spend a coin, than be able to bring that knowledge into the main game and make a fortune.........

However, if they were to limit what was available to only what needed to be tested, than it may work. Like for example, if they were testing the fix to the double-jump bug, than there would be no mobs loaded, and no gear.
Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.

Disagree with the forced PvP option since one can easily justify sitting outside arch and nuking everyone that comes through as "testing the PvP system". There are certainly enough people around who would voluntarily turn on PvP just for the chance to play with a "high" level build to test things when there isn't any chance for significant loss. To put it another way, if you were testing something and someone came along and ganked you, or tried, you wouldn't be too happy about it since it would have likely ruined what it was you were testing for.

Dungeons would probably be either inaccessable unless that dungeon was being tested. There are certainly enough people "testing" the existing dungeons. And yeah, if some sort of collision bug was needing to be tested, these dungeons could likely be done without having any spawns in them.

But really, this whole idea sounds too much like the "players testing builds or themselves", rather than testing aspects of the game. While this might provide a legal alternative to using one of those illegal methods out there, it doesn't seem like it would really accomplish the task of making sure parts of the game are working any better than what is currently being done. If such a server were to be made available to players, it should be done either by GM invite, selecting people who have a good understanding of how things "should" be, or by being a player who has had an account longer than a year, is in good standing (hasn't been muted/banned/warned), has charged more than $500 of zhen in that time, and has been active during a 6 month period prior to opening the test server. Why? Because someone who meets that criteria has been around long enough to know the rules, follow the rules, know enough about the game, be active enough to do testing, and likely be one of those people who has bought many CS items before, and can give good feedback on pricing and usage. They would also likely be the sort of person who would end up buying any new CS items that make it to the main game for reasons other than "seeing what it looks like for a week".

I agree this should remain PVE server because if you are allowed to test levels and gear/ etc, this would just become a big mess.

Maybe only new dungeons should be accessible for test.

I disagree a little on you requirements. I Believe they should be a little less strict such as 30 day account made and maybe only 1 Zhen purchase so information will be on file.

I understand that, however, there are still bugs and glitches that get past the staff in PWE offices and the reason is simply, they can't test every aspect of the game, new updates that might affect old ones; and in order to fix this, I propose releasing a public one even for only a week per patch I believe this will greatly help to find bugs and glitches.

That's great and all, but you should make the test server public. Afterall, it's our opinion that really matters.
