no, not under windows because of registry entrys and associated files that get installed in the win32 directory. Under Linux you can do this long as every Linux puter you go to has the exact same setup but how common is that.

    Actually...

I keep my games on a separate drive from my OS. When I upgraded my computer and installed Win7 on a brand new drive, I went to my games drive and opened the launcher and the game was just fine, without having to even download updates. Perhaps if PWI indeed needs to put anything in your windows directories it checks for those and adds them every time it is launched.

You should be able to copy the game directory to whatever drive you wish, then copy it to another PC.

Flash drives may not have fast enough read and write speeds to work well enough.

Also, if you have the game installed on XP, you can copy to XP.

Vista and 7 have their own anomalies where sometimes it'll work, sometimes it won't.
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

That would actually be way kewl. If it works like that then yes if you had a 2.0 usb portable hard drive not a flash drive I think it would play fairly well would be allot slower than having it installed locally but you could have acceptable game play. I think the 4gb USB key ring flash drives are just too slow but I don't have one here to test it with.

Well, I have a macbook with both XP and mac installed on it, leaving me with very little hard drive space. So instead I install all my games on my firewire hard drive and play them from there, and they all work fine. I keep PWI installed on my main hard drive though, because I play it the most and its a hassle to connect the external every time I want to play b:laugh
