Quests that involve more than Collect X, Kill X and Talk to NPC X.

It shouldn't be too hard to make a deeper questing system. I know a handful of people who are turned off by this game for the dull quests alone, and to be honest, I'm not a big fan of monotony either.

Certain special quests should have:

Cutscenes

Environment interaction (pushing an object out of the way to find something else)

Puzzles (Ranging from mazes to riddles)

Use of observation skills to find objects important to your quests

Seek and find (using a metal detector effect to find invisible, floating and buried items)

Unrepeated dialogue (See Dragon Quest if you don't know what I mean.)

More quests based on abilities and strategy. (Such as having an attack plan to kill an army of monsters, racing against an NPC from point A to point B, etc.)

    it would be nice but looking at the game i can't see that being put in i mean like if something like that would be put it i think it would be a major update

    Well, It's necessary if PWE wants more players. So many people I've showed this game to hate it because of the bland quests.

    They might not do this as a stand alone update, but it would be nice if they put it in with a future expansion. It would be very nice to have a bit of variety in the quests.

    i wholeheartedly agree that quests need to have some sort of interesting and challenging factor in them. im all for puzzles and strategies, but you have to keep in mind, this is an MMO, and its not easy to implement cutscenes and interactive environment.

    to me it sounds pretty easy to combine
    a quest would already be better if you had
    collect X, then turn in quest n it says you have to kill X
    but to get to the mobs [if they are like in a dungeon]
    you have to puzzle to open the entry door or so. idk

    come up with something more imaginative >: b:surrender

    Prerendered cutscenes are easy as pie to implement.

    Keep in mind that this is a big **** game, and it's FREE to play. It's kinda the downside of free games.

    Cutscene: easy to implement but will have problem on PvP server or even PvE server if NPC is outside safe zone when player can't move during cutscene.
    Environment interaction: possible but how would you made that into a quest?
    Puzzle: fixed puzzle is bad because player will just ask for solution. Other type of puzzle is possible but you need to elaborate on this idea.
    Observation skill/Seek and find: already in game. They are just a specific type of fixed puzzle.
    Unrepeated Dialog: bad idea on any MMORPG. The reason why it is bad idea is quite complicated, but you can read some introduction book to design MMORPG to know why.
    Monster killing quest is obviously based on strategy and ability. I think you need to elaborate more on this.
