Ok his pc meets all of the game requirments, everytime he trys to do a manual patch because the auto patch wont work. after he downloaded a manual patch and then went to install it it says: updating files.... badwords.txt and then it says retry or cancel

Is all the newer patches going to be put into the Regualr game download soon? I really dont see any fix for this as we have tryed everything it says in the technical support forum sectionand nothing is working. This is the second friend in a row that I have told about perfect world and hasnt been able to ever play it.

I strongly suggest updated the full game download with all the patches so its easier on people b:cry

Have you tried manually installing the patch?

Are you behind a router? (If so, go to http://portforward.com/ and find your router model instructions. Then forward port 29000)

Are you behind a firewall? (If so, add Perfect World International to the exceptions list if it isn't already there)

Have you verified the download and installation to ensure its not corrupted?

Do you have an Anti-Virus program? (Check to see if its security features have not blocked any files that PWI needs to run)

I cant find perfect world on the list, this is the site for the router he uses:

ok I see you gotta do it manually, but he isnt that expierienced with this, sure seems like a lot of hassle to play a game if u ask me.. not very newbie friendly

I would .. since he is running Vista Ultimate.. Make sure the firewall is enabled and configured make sure he puts in exclusion for port 29000 TCP in the firewall settings then go into the router and just DMZ it. Windows might be utter ... well anyways but there firewall is fairly strong also make sure he's got anti-virus installed before you DMZ it.

Simple solution that should take two clicks and a reboot of the router.
