No footstep sound?

Well, I've played PW for two days now and havent noticed any problem (besides the Stuck in thw Waterfall bug, but thats anther story). The thing is, that today when I logged in, suddenly i couldnt hear the footstep sounds. Can't hear the water sounds when swimming, the pm sounds when im chatting with friends or anything like that either. Everything else, music, wind, etc is completely fine. I've rebooted the comp several times, but no results. Verified the files once and it worked! But 2 mins later the game suddenly freezes for a few secs and its back like it was before (i mean, no footstep, water or pm sounds). All gone.

I wonder what's wrong with the game? Im using Windows Vista. Thanks in advance! :)

    also, what bitdepth is your version of vista? (32 or 64)

    So only the ambient sounds are playing?

    Also, there are no sounds for PMing or whispering AFAIK.

    I would try a Verify scan first. Click on "Verify" on the client launcher window and give it a while.

    when you get a Pchat or Fchat message, it makes a high-pitched shrill beep... that nearly gives me a heartattack (not to mention makes me go deaf..)

    I've never had these sounds through the entire time I've been playing this game... the only time i get some sort of beep is from the friends chatbox pop-up notification, unless that's what you actually meant?

    Anyways... OP, have you tried playing around with the sound settings in the game?

    Check your audio settings and volume/mixer settings in Windows.

    Also, try running a Verify on the game launcher menu and restart your PC.
    Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

    Already done it again, but nothing... And the game works completely fine in the other accounts. I have 32-bits windows vista. Should I write a ticket to them then?

    (And I have to agree that the Fchat beep makes my heart go berserk xD, but its but it feels empty playing just with the music and the ambient sounds...)
