Mini Combining Shards Guide

I'm sorry if a guide like this has already been made. I looked but could not find one so I decided I should probably make one. b:victory
I'm only doing this guide up to Average Shards. I might add onto it later.
Where can I combine shards?
Any Jewelcraftsmen. (An NPC you can find in every big city and most littler ones)
Why combine shards?
Because its cheaper than buying them. (unless you find a generous catshop of course) I'll explain more below.
Some basic stuff about gems and shards(if you put the shard into a weapon it increases attack, and in armor it increases defence. If i only list one affect gems have, it means there is only one):
Garnet: Increases physical attack or defence
Sapphire: Increases magic attack or defence
Turquoise: Increases mana
Citrine: Increases hit points
Amber: Increases accuracy or evasion
Alabaster: Increases metal attack or defence
Aquamarine: Increases wood attack or defence
Amethyst: Increases water attack or defence
Ruby: Increases fire attack or defence
Topaz: Increases earth attack or defence
Now time for the actual combining guide
The level of shards I'll be dealing with are (in order)......
Shabby
Rough
Blemished
Common
Average
TIME FOR THE MATH ON HOW COMBINING SHARDS IS CHEAPER THAN BUYING
You can buy shabby shards from any merchant for 530coins
You need 3 shabby shards to make a rough=1590coins(hm looks cheaper already for those people that buy your shards from catshops for crazy stone :P)
You need 9 shabby shards to make a blemished=4770coins
You need 27 shabby shards to make a common=14310coins
You need 108 shabby shards to make an average=57240coins (which is cheaper than buying them from the jewelcrafstmen for 60k)
THEREFORE: Combining shards is cheaper than buying (usually). Unless you do not feel like spending, I'll say about a minute or two to combine them. Sorry you had to read this. :P
And the above math thanks to Olba!

Also, here's some numbers for you, for the total numbers of shabbies for each grade:
Grade:Amount:Amount:Cost
G2: 3^1 (3) (1,590)
G3: 3^2 (9) (4,770)
G4: 3^3 (27) (14,310)
G5: 4*(3^3) (108) (57,240)
G6:(4^2)*(3^3) (432) (228.960)
G7:(4^3)*(3^3) (1,728) (915,840)
G8:5*(4^3)*(3^3) (8,640) (4,579,200)
G9:(5^2)*(4^3)*(3^3) (43,200) (22,896,000)
G10:(5^3)*(4^3)*(3^3) (216,000) (114,480,000)
G11:6*(5^3)*(4^3)*(3^3) (1,296,000) (686,880,000)
G12:(6^2)*(5^3)*(4^3)*(3^3) (7,776,000) (4,121,280,000)
As you can see, 1-4 is simply 3^(G-1), 5-7 is 4^(G-4)*27, 8-10 is 5^(G-7)*1728 and 11-12 is 6^(G-10)*216000
And the above math thanks to Olba!

Your missing like half of the shard level list ... there is Beautifull, Flawless, Immaculate, Perfect, Incomparable and Gem shard too.
There is also some end-game shard that gives bonus attack level and defence level.
Also you could add that past level 5 shard, it's usually cheaper to buy them off the other player.~~~ My Guides ~~~

Well first. I said I was only going to name a few. And when I made this guide. (yes two months ago, I took a break and come back and noticed there were cheaper.) Shards were way more expensive. I couldn't find someone who would sell them cheaper.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Um, using "g" in place of "coin" is rather misleading. If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

another important thing..
while shabby shards can be bought from any merchant, average shards can be bought (intact without combining anything) from the jewelcraftsman
more importantly, average shards are just barely cheaper to buy from the jewelcraftsman than they would be to buy all shabby shards & combine to make an average. this is something most definetely worth considering when spending tons to attain those pricey higher lvl shards - average shards cost 60,000 coin apiece when bought from the jewelcraftsman0 -

Actually if you read. if you combine your own shards it's 57,240. And say if you're making the higher lvl shards. If you are making an Beautiful shard it costs 228,960 if you combine them. But if you buy average stones from the Jewlecraftsmen and combine those to make an Beautiful it will cost 240,000. You save 11,040.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Any chance of finding out estimated time to create as well? Would be interesting, and useful for day planning, to see how many hours some of the higher lvl shards take to make b:chuckle

it'll tell you for any given shard how long it takes to combine from any lower level - but starting from level 1 shards, you'd have:
lvl 2 - 3 shards - 1.590 coin - 1 sec
lvl 3 - 9 shards - 4.770 coin - 4 sec
lvl 4 - 27 shards - 14.310 coin - 13 sec
lvl 5 - 108 shards - 57.240 coin - 53 sec
lvl 6 - 432 shards - 228.960 coin - 3min. 33sec
lvl 7 - 1.728 shards - 915.840 coin - 14min. 13sec
lvl 8 - 8.640 shards - 4.579.200 coin - 1H 11min. 6sec
lvl 9 - 43.200 shards - 22.896.000 coin - 5H 55min. 31sec
lvl 10 - 216.000 shards - 114.480.000 coin - 29H 37min. 36sec
lvl 11 - 1.296.000 shards - 686.880.000 coin - 7 days 9H 45min. 37sec
lvl 12 - 7.776.000 shards - 4.121.280.000 coin - 44 days 10H 33min. 43sec0 -
