To a certain extent it would be considered griefing, if a person can twist the story the right way. And in some cases, it does result in bans on PvP server.

I've been writing a story to be used in an heavy pvp based mmo that may or may not ever get made. I have a lot of ideas for the mmo but no idea how to actualy start it. :p

One of the requirements to play, because its main focus will be on pvp (there will be little to no pve content), is to actually be good at pvp. I'm sorry to say, none of you are. You even openly admit to it many times on this topic, and clearly state that you like being horrible at pvp.

I may let people like you play it in the end, but don't expect to get past level 1 with how bad you are at pvp.

b:laugh This gave me a great giggle before lunch.

Killing mobs is stupid. You should not be able to kill mobs and only players to get EXP. The higher the player above you kill the more EXP. Now there's a silly idea.

I am afull supporter for all out war PKing but then there times when you are just being an a$$.

Making it so people lose their EXP on purpose is against the rules. b:bye

I guess we will not know if its ok or not until there is a GM post here to clarify and we know that will not happen since there are thousands of different situations that can occur with so many dicipliary actions to be dealt out.

Starang = Ragebear (worse kind for PVP server)

Goliath = Sinster Bear (I love it, so cute with such sharp claws).

Why on earth would it be against the rules?

Seriously, what possible reason? It's Pvp - the only reason to play on this server is to PK people, and "the more the merrier", right?

Frankly, I don't understand why it's bad to lure bosses into safe areas on PvP servers.

If PKing players regardless of level or questing or whatever is acceptable - why stop?

You don't understand because you are an a$$. (and I know you understand why its not allowed because I know you are not an idiot, I've read most of your posts)

A$$ versus Idiot - very different things.

The safe zones are there for you to be safe in. It also allows you to setup shop and be safe. Not to mention the needed moment to hit the crapper and not be worried about being killed.

A personal favourite of mine is,

when u see a KOS veno aoe grinding with their herc, you let them pull huge numbers like herc can and then u sleep the veno. Veno can't heal so herc dies then all the mobs come running to destroy the veno (who can't move cause of sleep). Extremely harsh? Yes. Hilarious? Denfinately.

I'd totally do that, and I'm a Veno. Although, in all honesty, the only real way to grind with a Herc is AoE grind. Stupid thing has no aggro capabilities. I've always wanted to pull something similar on the clerics I see pulling uber amounts of poison mobs at a time when I'm trying to do a quest on them as well. Hmm. Can a combination of Lucky Scarab and Parasitic Nova hold them long enough? Might have to toss a Nox on them to help with that poison damage... *laughs maniacally*

If you're afk in a town or trading with someone and some person lures a world boss that kills you, I'm sure you'd be annoyed. They're called safe zones for a reason, that's why red named players go afk in them.

Even if we apply this "No PK during quest", people are just going to be "KSing" instead of "PKing". In both case people are still gonna go on forum and QQ about it. It's not gonna change much to be honest if this kind of thing gets added.

Glad you agree but you have missed we have taken over the thread and are now talking about luring bosses to safe zones and setting up players to die by mobs to lose EXP.

For the Record, I'm annoyed *anytime* some PKer tags me. So why should safe zones be special?

This seems to be the way most pk'ers minds work. Basically it's just a simple excuse to justify being an arrogent jerk to your fellow player.

For those who say "stop QQ n00b" .....face it, you're not fighting bravely in a dangerous enviornment against hundreds of other warriors .....you're poking about in a game in a pretend world with a virtual pixel character, creating drama and sitting behind a computer screen, having fun because you purposely upset some poor kid you don't even know, then feeling tough telling him to "stfu" and calling everyone who doesn't follow your way a "carebear". You obviously fail in every way irl and come on here to compensate.

There is a personality type that is attracted to this behavior, and it won't be swayed by words - logical and well thought out or abusive.

They are here for the drama that has little or no consequence. The game itself is setup to avoid offending these players, because they contribute $$ to the game.

    Another Pointless Thread.

LOL, its a game. If someone gets upset because they get killed while "poking about in a game in a pretend world with a virtual pixel character" that is really their issue. Its like saying "Hey everybody lets go online and play call of duty aganist eachother. But remember no killing.... you might offend or upset people."

As Bartle pointed out in his Player Types paper, Achievers and Griefers are different points on the same spectrum - Achievers act on the world while Griefers act on other players. A factor-based model of player motivations created from player survey data suggests that a desire for power and control are the underlying themes that connect Achievers and Griefers. Achievers enjoy the power derived from items and abilities and the increased control these give them over the game world (faster movement, better protection, etc.). Griefers on the other hand enjoy the power derived from dominating or tricking other players and the control this gives them over other players. The underlying similarity between Achievers and Griefers is supported by survey data. These two motivations are highly correlated (r = .40, N = 1995).

Unsolicited or unbalanced player-killing is the most straight-forward form of griefing - it in essence deprives another player of all his power and in the process demonstrates the griefer's dominance and control over other people.

    Extract from 'Daedalus Project'

Makes for an interesting read if you have enough intelligence to go through it. So how much of it is real life and how much of it is just a game?

More for those fugwads who keeps saying QQless pewpewmoar and says its just a game, roll a PVE server
