maxxing mounts

I know your mount gets faster as its lvl increases, but how do you increase the lvl? I've heard its by time spend on the mount, and if that's true, how long approx/how much riding must be done to achieve lvl 11/max? Thanks.

uhm it takes a few hours to get it to level 11..

What you have been told is true. Spending time on your mount increases the mounts xp gaining it levels. People say if you spend all night on your mount it will reach max level.

as far as i remember unless its initial speed was 10m/s, it wont go to 11m/s without spurring.

now, is all of this information the same for flying mounts? Will continually riding a flyer make it gain speed?
