    I admit LA has its uses, and to the comment about you have seen some awesome LA clerics, I have seen good arcane clerics as well. You just know to know what your doing.

    The only reason I'm defending my arcane build is because ChronicDose thinks LA is better all the way around which it isn't, it has many flaws.

    I can tell you...I am Arcane build with 50 base vit.

    I can survive RB/GV, all HH's (3-3 kills all...lol).

    If you want the best of both worlds ---->

    Use pdef shards in armor.

    Use refine for extra hp/pdef.

    Use pdef ornaments.

    Magic attack rings with +vit.

    All in all LA Clerics are not meant to be "healers" they are meant more for defense. Additionally, Clerics can hit extremely hard and to have to rely on the Crtis means you are gimped in your damage overall.

    Viable endgame --- not in my opinion
    Overall bad build --- no, I have seen it be successful, but difficult

    Actually those def values sounds right. So is the hp, if he use at least +3 refine and pump full beautiful citrines, which isn't strange at all.

    I've played both robe and LA, so trust me, robe doesn't give you much of an advantage for magic defense over LA, due to diminishing returns. The difference in pdef is significant though. The only real disadvantage of LA for is lower attack, which becomes more and more pronounced at you level higher.

    The specific areas in which mine was better I honestly stick by the fact you scan over these posts and don't even read them. The amount of **** you have posted makes me feel like you don't even read over yours before you submit:

    I think the gimp in attack (and yes especially at the higher levels) is just not worth it. When in PvP you HAVE to rely on 3 spark attack = low output and to me that is just not worth it.

    I was but I wanted to cheer you up because you seem to have the impression I think that LA is the best, which if you READ my posts you would understand I was simply trying to reassure the OP that it is definitely viable and FAR from useless.

    I can not grind them efficiently enough hp and mp wise to make it worthwhile since I suffer more Magic dmg, I could attempt this, I just choose not to, I choose to aoe grind with a bm or barb with physical mobs. Its a choice.

    Massive Editing : I will admit I am wildly OCD, if I notice something I don't like I will edit it.. is there a problem ;)

    As is going LA. It is a shame really, I know quite a few LA clerics that do this with low hp. It is not about the hp, it is about knowing the timing and how to heal and purify yourself.

    Hehehe I "could" do it...It must just be the fact I am lazy and the exp gain from it just doesn't seem worthwhile for all the stress, I have lvl 9 purify so I might try it sometime, which would you recommend for 77-80.

    Start with about 5-6 to see what you can handle. And all you really need is about Level 5-6 purify to be able to do it.

    Lol I haven't been questing at ALL since 70, and just did a quest of those the other day, the place I was at/where the quest finder told me to go, there just didn't seem like enough of them to aoe grind, but I am used to grinding spiders and Assassins and the sorts with my barb and bm friends, lvl 72 and light green atm, so not amazing exp but not bad, I might need to find another wood mob to do it with.

    Obviously there must be another place/might take a couple tries maintaining aggro as I pick up new mobs.

    Thanks for the help! Ill try this and compare it to soloing Butterflies and some water mobs north of sanctuary.

    One thing tho, Arcane pwn LA in the amount of mobs you can pull.
    Example, on my lv you have to pull 2 types of mobs to get near 20 mobs on me.
    Cause of one type of mobs they poison stacks from 400dmg to 2k dmg REALLY fast and here is where Arcane shines. In this situation LA would have to over heal thus making the time to kill to long and MP usage to great.

    Not to say if it was a poor LA with no refines, that cleric would die every time :\

    Yes...us arcane do own in the amount pulled....but it can still be good exp for LA. Better then single mob grinding b:sweat

    Of course, ChronicDose never said any such thing. He just pointed out that it was better at some things, primarily dealing with physical damage. He even stated right up front, in his first post, that it was one of two good builds and that Bowlinbob's arcane build was also good. Worse yet, Bowlinbob started out by insulting ChronicDose's build, and then acted like he was the good guy for "defending" a build that ChronicDose had said was a viable build!

    I know an LA cleric that AOE grinds too + i think he's over 5 lvls lower than me... & he can handle more mobs than me b:surrender All the time I thought he was arcane. He just switches armours for grinding & does awsome.

    I'm actually thinking of switching to LA for 90s gear... not sure yet... With all those shouting " atk gimp! atk gimp! " your higher atk wont help you much if you're dead, which to me always happens from phys mobs/aoes; mgk ones don't even come close... My purpose in parties is to survive, not to DD, even though I love to QQ , yeah the heal will be weaker, but it's managable.

    I duno, I'm still undecided, both have +/-
