Just to let ye know, that in order to play this game properly, get ready for hours of research. PW is not just about playing the game, but most of it is about going from link to link in the forums to understand various things in the game. I hope you have the patience for the whole research thing XD

Example 1: I lost a lot of money the other day in that cube place because i didnt spend HOURS researching about it here. Never had to do that on any other online game XD

Example 2:Today i spent 2 gold for a pet cage and had to walk around Archosaur for AGES trying to get my extra pet slot and I found NO pet manager with the little yellow box above her head. My boyfriend was pretty narked I had to get him to sort it and he told me "oh btw the pet managers are a bit bugged for the extra pet cage so you have to go to a special pet manager in West District". I asked him "how did you know that? How the heck are we supposed to know that?" He said a friend told him as his friend had spent HOURS reserching the forums to explain about this bug.

So new guys, dont be "ignorant" like I have been and be prepared for the amount of research you have to do to play this game LOL.

Oddly enough, I think the exact opposite of you. Compared to the other MMO I've played for a long time, this game requires far less research and much more straightforward. It honestly feels like cheating that I can do something as simple as mouse over an item to know what NPC I'm looking for or what it's used for, or auto path to an NPC, or have access to a free game database with an easy search, or even be able to

It sounds to me, more like you were trying to take it to a pet manager rather than to the pet skill trainer that offers the quest. The description in the boutique even says take it to the pet trainer, not the pet manager.

I took it to the Pet Skill Trainer XD and good for you, you find this straight forward so of COURSE you would feel the "exact" opposite. Its your opinion but out of all the mmos ive played, ive NEVER been so confused with this game.

I quess if I had spent my life behind a pc from the age of 5 instead of having a life, I would find these incredibly straightforward.

Sounds more like a community issue you have than a game issue. And I can sympathies with you a bit. There are some amazing ppl in this game and a lot of helpful and friendly players, but we have our share of rude and ignorant ones too.

One that always intrigued me is RB squads. There's always a complaint of "it's impossible to find a squad", yet no squad will accept anything other than a highly "experienced" member. Considering there's an almost insane demand for experienced RB'ers and literally no one willing to help the inexperienced, it's not much wonder really O_o

How do you get experience if no one helps? I've had answers like youtube and read guides o.o ....try telling that to the next squad shouting for party members.... "hey man, you ARE fully experienced right?" "Oh yeh no prob, never done it but watched youtube a few times, so we ready? :) "

Not in this game you don't.

If you took it to the pet skill trainer, why does your initial post say Pet Manager?
I found NO pet manager with the little yellow box above her head. My boyfriend was pretty narked I had to get him to sort it and he told me "oh btw the pet managers are a bit bugged for the extra pet cage so you have to go to a special pet manager

You said it 3 times right there. All pet skill trainers ask for a cage, they also all offer the pet bag extension quests. There's also only one skill trainer in arch, everything else is a manager, so you didn't go to a skill trainer.

However, one thing I would say they could most certainly do and would probably be welcome, is for would be that if you have a boutique item that involves a quest, for the quest to pop up in your find quest window (preferably at the top), that might help people find what they need.
One that always intrigued me is RB squads. There's always a complaint of "it's impossible to find a squad", yet no squad will accept anything other than a highly "experienced" member. Ran into this same issue myself. I've had three ideas, but haven't done any yet. Mostly since in the last month I've only seen two WC's asking for venos for it.
One: Lie and say you're experienced then tell them the truth once it's too late. After the run you really are experienced.
Two: Tell them they can either stand around for an hour looking for someone with experience, or take you, tell you how it goes, and then have someone with experience to use in the future saving them lots of time.
Three: You can tell the truth and simply say, by asking for experienced people they're not making any progress, maybe they need to take others so they can do it rather than stand around shouting for people.

That may be true, but apart from really high lvl stuff, you can pretty much find an answer to any question in mere seconds (alright maybe a minute) thru the use of numerous accurate and comphrensive websites. Whoever put pwdatabase together is an absolute legend btw b:thanks

    open your browser.
    type in www.pwdatabase.com
    type in pet, hit return
look down in the npc section, click on "search more" just below it.

There are all your pet related npc's.
Click on one of the pet skill trainers
hmm no quests for pet extension there.
Lets hit back arrow and try a pet manager (click on one)
This looks more promising, click on receive quests.
Theres a "Find the cage". This looks right. Click on that.
Take a cage to the pet trainer to extend your Pet Bag capacity to 2 slots

    Looks like we've found it.
Up in the top right it shows you the coordinates of this npc. Or you can hit back arrow and get a list of coordinates of pet managers.

You cant find everything you want on pwdatabase, but it can probably answer 90% of your questions.

    cheers.

Um, wouldn't simple logic say that there should be something wrong if someone is telling you that there is a perfect place for easy experience? And by the way, it shouldn't take you more than a few minutes to get on the official PWI site, the official PWI forum, their quests subforum, their official quest help database sticky, where there's a link to a topic about Cube of Fate.

You know, there's a whole lot of things to express what you did. There's Did Not Do Research, "RTFM", "RTFMF" and a few others.

Yup it's called laziness. This game doesn't take much effort to find anything out. Simply mouse click on the little starwand in the navigator map and find the pet skill trainer in arch and you will find it in no time. How long did that take maybe a minute. If you don't know how to use you're map then there is a guide in game and on the forums that can help, or simply ask a player to teach you.

As far as the cube of fate, if she had actually taken the time out and talk to the npc before rushing it she'd know that it was a gamble instance. Even then information on the forums is easily attainable if you use you're search option. Even shouting in whole chat someone would gladly have told her how the instance work. If you rush in before knowing what you're getting into then common sense says you will make a mistake. You take the gamble, that is not anyone's fault but you're own. But now because she feels she has not done anything wrong on her part, she will flame anyone that points our her own error. Starting a thread to harrass and flame others will get you into trouble with the mods, or gm's.

Everyone is entitled to say what they think can help you. If you are not willing to accept that you made a mistake and not willing to hear the advice over others that than do not make threads like this one.

I realize you've had a rough time lately, and are irritated about it.

However, coming in here and p*ssing on the ONLY people who are usually willing and able to help you with these "secrets" is, at best, counterproductive.

If you think you can calm your *** down a notch, and ask questions here *first* before you go off on a frickin' rant, then many of us, I'm sure, would be willing to help.

If you plan to keep the attitude, then I suggest (for your health) that you stay out of here and restrict your communication to screaming at the screen and kicking your cat.

Well I think there ought to be some stuff that you should know before starting to play this game. For example:

    1. Be prepared to lag in west archosaur district.

    2. Don't try to use general chat to ask people where an npc is because no one responds (maybe once in a while you get a nice person in the vacinity that will pm you)

    3. From level 1-40 do quests and don't grind to level up.

    ...and many more.

Or get ready to mess up a lot. In my case, I tend to seek out games where failure is at least amusing. As its commonly called on roguelike newsgroups "Yet Another Stupid Death". Granted there aren't a lot of amusing ways to die in this game (like kicking a stairway on a roguelike and having the entire dungeon level collapse, or standing on an altar and a humanoid enemy sacrifices you), but at least it provides some fun. I'd have quit long ago if every single thing were handed to me. It simply isn't fun anymore at that point.

If, on the other hand, you're the type who can't play a game without reading the strategy guide front-to-back at least once, that's fine too. Just don't come complaining to those who "provide" the strategy guide in the first place if you accidentally skipped something.

LOL! Classic case of super-noob QQ! (Yes I know it says I'm a level 4, it's an alt. DON'T MOCK ME! b:infuriatedb:chuckle) Instead of running around the forums complaining all you had to do was pay attention and read the "tutorial" and what the npc's say. If you didn't read any of that then you really should go point a finger to the person in the mirror, that will show you who is really at fault. Personally, IMO I hope no one helps you after this, you sound like a baby that needs its bottle to get through life. So have a great day, go spend more time watching Hannah Montana and less on PWI b:victory bye now ;)

Usually I DO research and study class builds, types, etc before I play a game like this.

This time I didn't, and no only did I find out everything I needed to know by level 20, what I didn't find out was easily accessible on the forums, and what I messed up is super simply fixed.

    This game is very straightforward.

Go in game and press L.

PWI is one of the only games that I just started playing and just learned along the way. Some other MMOs I play I still suck at cause it's literally wtf. Talk to people, get friends, that's how I learned to play the game.

Learn from your mistakes, if you want to try to prevent them, then you may wanna do a teensy bit research, but it's not required. You can wing a lot of stuff in this game.

I disagree. This game is better than most in terms of getting into it.
You don't even need to read a manual or do a tutorial to figure out how to do most things.
And the quest logs pretty much tell you exactly where you need to go to do anything.

If you want more hand holding, then Ether Saga I found can be played practically while in a coma. Just click on hyperlinks in the quest log and you autopilot to exactly where the mobs you need to kill are. Then fire off your macro to kill the needed amount. Then hyperlink back to the npc.

If you're so bitter about this game, it's probably best that you stopped playing. This game is pretty straightforward and any information that isn't readily available in-game can be easily found here on the PWI and MY-EN forums in just minutes (not hours, as you stated).

Lol Warren i stand corrected, I wanted to say just this but couldn't find the words. Although i don't know wth she feels entitled too. How freakin easy can it get for us, you can google the topics for pwi and still find them lol. I mean in game you don't even have to navigate yourself they have auto navigation. I mean where is the research. The quests have green name that you just click to help you find it. -.- the freaking game itself has coordinates, none of the mmo's i played had that.

At level thirty, forty, fifty, you're still not going to know everything about this game, players who have been her since this game started are still learning. The hard way i might add because if there is no information we have to do trial and error. Lol it's good for her to run around arch anyway gets you familiar with the npc. I bet she won't forget where the pet skill trainer is.

And lmao Ice i wonder if she did know that. If she wasn't going to do the quest her cheapest route would have been to get the super stone to max the pet bag all together. And if you do that fyi that isn't done at the pet skill trainer. ^ ^

The hay is sooo easy, just go outside west gate and kill the rhinodrakes... they still drop hay even for me at my level, one would be able to get enough hay for the free expansion slot in an hour or two.

I agree, if you going to skip the free expansion quests, than might as well get a supercage, much cheaper.

I've played a lot of MMO's, simply because I like the interaction and social variables between all of them, I currently and activly play 4 different MMORPG's... By far PWI requires the least research. All the info you need for most anything can be obtained in game by either just reading basic text, or trying a couple things out.

Unlike other major MMORPG's where doing high level raids and such take hours if not days of coordination and research to manage even a chance of success.

I would suggest a easier to play MMO with a theme that revolves around a cute kitty that first came out in Japan years ago. There is plenty of merchandising, and now they even have a MMO. From what I have seen, it may be easier to play than the type of more advanced MMOs like PWI.
