Common Sense (How to make/keep $$$)

Note:
Now, I hear a lot of people are in desperate straits for cash, I had a bit of time on my hands so I decided to lend a small hand to some of the desperate-enough-to-try-voodoo-magic-for-coins type of people. Yesh, I play a veno, but yesh, I also have played a cleric too and know the best and worst of coin income. This said, lets move on to how you can save money (For lost city).
Tips/Commandments:
1. Though shalt teleport wisely: People will say don't do it, but lets look at it this way, you want to go to City of the Lost (best city ever), but you don't want to break the piggy bank every single time. Simple: go to one of the adjacent cities that cost only 300 coin to teleport there. this is just one of many examples, learn the map and don't just teleport straight to a city, you can fly/walk some of the distance to the place you really want to be. The time you save and thus the extra mobs and XP you get will more than make up for the 300 coin down-side.
2. Though shalt get PvE skills only: Don't get skills you don't really use in PvE. Until you have enough coins, don't bother specing PvP right away. Although we are on a PvP server, PvE spells will suffice until you have enough coin to do PvP (yesh, world chats to gloat about beating someone are rising in price b:cry). So alas, get skills only according to what is necessary for PvE. Also, you will probably respecify your build multiple times throughout the course of your PvP career. Lets put it this way, you will have more than enough spirit for your genie to get skills, and you will save about 1 mil a maxed out skill in the long run.
3. Thou shalt not beg: By the time someone gives you the coin you need, you would have farmed it 50x over. This isn't a carebear server, and unless you are in a guild, people won't treat you with pity but only disdain. Oh, and also you realize that your going to be hated even if you beg within the guild right?
4. Thou shalt keep your eye on the money: Pick up your damn coins. Most of the people complaining about not having money don't pick up their coinsb:angry, hell if you see your neighbor dropping coins everywhere pick it up for him.
5. Thou shalt die when you get PKed: OK its cool to PvP other people that kill you when you are grinding when you are high enough, but it really just brings them back and detracts from your PvE money making at lower levels. Even if you do kill them you will be on edge throughout the rest of your grind session, as well as many heiro-ticks short. Unless they are camping you for guild allegiance reasons, its better to just die and let them move on to the other guys in the area. (Yes, just let their enormous e-pens grow and your piggy bank as well.)
6. Thou shalt not just "Save up for that one thing": Usually you want to facking diversify. I love seeing this one guy with Calamities axes + 0 with no socketed gems and the rest of his armor is quest drop. Look my friends, this game makes it easy to save up for "that one item" because coins do drop and DQs sell well. That being said, if you save up for "that thing I gotta have" you end up forgetting the rest of your **** and that really holds you back when it comes to leveling and money making. You spend more on pots as well as the time you waste on not specing your gear early enough.
7. Thou shalt consider utility over style: You may want that hellfire drake, but realize that if that fully upgraded manta sells for half price and its utility is about the same, you want to buy that manta. Realize that you will always have time to make that money later.
8. Thou shalt not dance with the devil in the moonlight: Don't do it, its just a bad idea.
9. Thou shalt always do your dailies: Grind if you have to for that 5k-23K a day for that hourly, higher level you get the better drops you get. Don't mind getting the gear for the new levels you reach. Getting that level does not mean you NEED the gear or you will die. You can STILL grind and level with your armors... which brings me to the last tip, which will be very shocking.
10. Thou shalt use legendary gear: Realize that despite the extra cost of using and maintaining legendary gear, they help level you faster as well as retain a level of re-sell that could be higher if you had bought it for lower. Plus, with all the BHs happening there is more mold gear then ever. If you don't mind grabbing mats you can even get the molds for cheaper than dirt. Bottom line, legendary gear is useful as you can use them until you can find a suitable buyer which means a bit more green in your pocket.
Disclaimer:
OK, please do not flame me, I am sure that most of the people who know how to make money already do most of these things. If you do all of these things and still don't make money or have enough money to do what you like than you need to think of another way to magic out money. These are just some basic suggestions that new players might find useful or not. Really its up to your play style, but if you like using relatively decent gear and have money on hand, taking a page from these tips may help.

Dr. Bean
P.S.: If you really love the world, you will remember that it is better to teach a newb how to fish, than to PK him, and then take all his feeshes.b:bye

Good thread.
I totally agree with the PK thing. Just let them kill and you move on. Anything more may cost you grinding time with them camping you.
And I freakin hate beggers. I always PM them and tell that the community frowns on that. then I find myself spending the next 20 minutes running through all the easy money making techniques and wonder why I opened my mouth and lost another 20 minutes.tatuaje: grinding mobs and zhenning ???
frankieraye:All right, I admit it, it's a bit retro. lol.0 -
You forgot to mention.
Thou shalt keep thy eye open for deals.
You wouldn't believe how often when I'm in west arch waiting for my 10 minutes to turn in crazy stone I see someone selling something for a very low price (yes I know 99% of things being sold are overpriced) and I will buy it and resell later for a decent profit. The only way to win is to quit. b:bye0 -
You're forgetting "pick up every mid/high mat you see while moving/questing/grinding". It makes you money, it's easy, it's like picking up 2-3k coins. Wines are in demand, giving anyone a pretty easy time if they want money.Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.0

Events/Sales are a great way to make money as well, even if you do not purchase zen.
All you need is patience, because it might take a while before the item on sale returns to a higher price.
Take the chance to stock up on the item though, and when the sales over, you woulda made more money0 -

During the Jolly Jones event I didn't have enough to buy dolls but I was able to make some money. I spent 1mil on 15 G6 garnets. When prices go back up to normal in a couple of weeks I can sell 200kea and make three times what I invested. The only way to win is to quit. b:bye0 -

The reason why I did not mention buying/selling/deal hunting is because you may get the short end of the stick in the long run. Believe it or not, it takes a while for prices to return back to normal. That being said, you could have that money go into more useful things such as skills and teleporting. That being said, if you can afford to play with the markets and do so anyways, you won't really have a problem with this game.
However, I did not want to make a compendium of buy-sell strategies, plus if I did, I would have to update it almost daily. b:victory
