Death Passage; Part of the new patch, maybe?

I was **** around in Snake Isle, when I came across this place:

The place is called Death Passage. It's wayyy east of Snake Isle (the racecourse). Those green circles stretch wayyyyyyy farther than what you see in the picture (as in, at least a 5 minute swim). Those hand things are lvl [?], and when they clasp together they do an AoE inside the green circle things (It one hits you; you don't lose xp, but it made my charm tick like crazy). From the looks of it, you're supposed to go through the entire passage. If only we had a water mount...

BTW, the coords are 447 592 at the very top of Death Passage. Begin your speculation!

BTWBTW, I searched the forums and the internet, and it looks like no one knows about this b:pleased

    havnt seen this before but i have some clues for you :P

    There is a GM npc at south west of the map with varius teleports on it for GMs to enter dungeons and one is called "Annual Horse Race Test" which teleports you to the sea around snake isle, a place randomly under-water.

    i presume thats what it is. the annual horse race begining to finally be finished!

    either that or they got their npcgen.data files mixed up real bad with TT. which would be funny.

    EDIT: There's nothing underwater, but the ocean's REALLY deep (height 0)

    if we have to swim this, i am so going to kill the deves for nerfing the veno swimming ability!! its unreasonable that they did, and that the barb actually has his speed increased more than once! summer sprint doesnt work in the water...

    Wow, it looks like there was a lot more things that the GMs didnt say about that massive patch a few weeks ago. Its like that new island you can see if you go south of the Sea dragon temple (forgot what it was called, its really far south, in the sea of reality)

    I visited it today... kinda creepy to dive into the water that deep, without mobs or decorations on the ground.

    I wanted to look for that npc too :[
    but I swam south along the hands and went afk (took so long >.<)
    when i came back I was standing in north arch :[ next time I need to be faster >.< took some screenies too, but not any better than the ones already posted.

    woot i have been there o and the hands are 1 hit kos however if they kill you you wont lose exp and respawn at the point right before the hands
    its impossible to always do the right thing we all make mistakes i am not different from that
    just try to be a good person

    Ouch, just 5 days off the limit.
    I almost got lost in there btw. TP=Back to the start of death passage and you have no idea which way snake isle is. If you press M theres a map but its a dungeon map (you only see the island, not where you are). I just kept swimming west.

    i did the whole thing once but yeah barbs have 50% increased swimming speed(i have a bad feeling that it will get deleted when tideborn are here just as they did with the veno swimming mastery)
