PvE Builds for BM?

Hey uhh the amount of pvp threads is pretty overwhelming for me...im not too into pvp at all myself. I was wondering if there is a generic build for a PURE PVE sword BM. After reading that one BM guide by Lyndura(?) and seeing all those skills, there's gotta be a build out there that could suit me! Would be pretty nice to have a sword BM suited for fast pve kill speeds and can still be a good tanker for raids/dungeons or whatever can be done in PW that's group-related :S. So if there is a generic build that can accomplish the things stated above, that would be awesome.

Btw, I've read that it's not a good idea to stay with only one weapon type...so maybe developing a hybrid BM is better?

Also, is there such a thing as a "shield" in this game? I haven't seen PW mention anything about it at all... O_o

Oh one last thing, I'm new so that's why I'm asking alot of things (DLing the game right now atm)...so uhh hi everyone b:surrender

    No such thing as shields in PW I'm afraid. For pure PvE most people will recommend going axes or axes + some other weapon types. Keep in mind though that as a BM you won't be tanking much as this is the role of the Barbarian

    Tank bms fail, roll a barb.b:chuckle

    Use axes and aoe + stun for damage dealer. It's the boring cookie-cutter build, because it works.

    I think if you like PvE you "MUST" go for Axe-Polearm, thats because yon can grinding AoE easyly physical mobs (including some ranged mobs getting aggro from them) with Axes and Polearm to "Sudden Death" solo mobs, even sub-bosses and bosses. Even you can try soloing FB`s depending on your lvl. I`m a lvl 51 BM with 3 STR, 1 DEX and 1 VIT per level and im just fine b:victory
    Raising Axe tree first and eventually when you got spare sp and money raising Polearm skills b:laugh

    dont listen to them fists are the ultimate in pve we put out more dps and can stop the mobs channeling axe builds in pve are only good for 1 thing and that is aoe.

    I don't play BM that much but isn't it possible to go both ways for pve go axe and for pvp go sword.How would you set up a BM much like this as this is what I would like to do?
    Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.

    enough dex for the sword and str for the axe thats all you need plus learn the skills obviously

    HA! Funny so do I! And I've been able to kill reg mobs at least 8-10 lvls higher than me and elite mobs up to lvl 50 since lvl 42! Sorry, but barbs aren't the only tanks in the game. At least I THINK that's why I've been in such high demand since lvl 45... b:chuckle

    When no barb is around, take 2 BMs who have Myriad. If one is fister as main tank, you can have the bosses under 50% damage ability non-stop the entire fight without losing aggro. Not only is the barb tank no longer needed, but any AoEs that usually can kill the squishies will now be easily survived.

    Only caveat being with end game gear being gained, and alts/rich people getting high power weaponry, it does also matter on the eq of the BM tank and any DDs in the group. Lots of -interval gear really helps on fist tank as well.
