Why are they gaurding this mysterious chest?

There are chests scattered through out PW guarded by mobs and im curious to see whats inside but i cant seeing as how i need a special item b:angry its been keeping me up longer and longer each night its like looking at a cereal box that says theres a mysterious prize inside but you cant buy it cause of a misc. obstacle in front of you

    AFAIK they are related to World Quest. You can have this daily quest at level 70+

    Nope,they have nothing to do with wq. Those chests need a key to open and those keys dont drop or drop extremely rarely. There hasn't been much actual info about those except that nobody can open them.

    No idea why you think they are related to world quest which is just flying from npc to npc.

    Chests like the Nanmuwood Chest are just basically little goodie bags for noobies, though you have to get a key to open it.

    I heard this from WC ingame from some lvl 75 char so I thought he knows what he's talking. If not then sorry for misleading.

    I somehow managed to open the chest near wellspring village and it contained 1 Iron ore. However, when I tried to open another in Hidden Orichid valley, I couldnt.

    The Nanmuwood Chests (at 452 620, 500 940, and 244 413) are what AinaMizuako linked to (though the "N/A??" is now named as "Gold Foil"). You can open the chests using the Perfect Iron Hammer and it doesn't consume the hammer.

    Yeah i also began now hearing that people are getting those chests open. Will have to try with that hammer next time.

    those have been ingame for over a year now and before there was no way to open them.

    Not much in them as far as I can see. One in scorpion valley gave me a lvl 19 sword with 3 unidentified on it. Couple of others gave me gold foil. There all over the place but if you look on your mini map you can see them cause the critters usually form some sort of pattern around them. Also you do not need a perfect hammer to open them. I have not used one yet and have opened about 4 so far.

    What lvl chests,i mean the guardians around it and what lvl are you?

    Because i've tried to open them but haven't got a single one open,always says needing a tool.

    Last i tried was the lvl40 chest close to Sumor.

    Maybe i'm just too high lvl for them then.

    I have opened the one in scorpion valley, by broken bow bluff and bengal ridge, timberfield, and one other one I can't remember where. (friend found it and died.) Opened most of them on a lvl 40-45 veno one on a lvl 34 cleric. Oh and I think I opened the one out in the broken plain also. Never needed anything special to open them. Only got the one weapon rest were foil.

    I remember there was one near etherblade i think. Like south etherblade. Somewhere there...Couldve been anywhere between Bengal ridge, heroes tomb and etherblade.

    lol just the nanmuwood chests are opening, but idk if its considered an "exploit" since you are technically supposed to have the nanmuwood key. so i for one, am refraining from opening anymore chests in fear of the mighty b&hammer.
    all they have in them are useless **** anyway
