Zen vs Gold

I've never really understood the whole zen & gold thing, but I'd like to buy some stuff from the cash shop/item mall... Someone explain please & thank you!

    100 Zen = 1 Gold

    Therefore.... 1000 Zen = 10 Gold

    Once you purchase, you transfer the Zen to your sever and it converts to Gold.

    you need real life money to purchase zen and transfer it to your server, its about $10.00 for 1000 zen which is 10 gold

    You can purchase gold through the auction house as well with ingame coins, although I have never done it. It's like 200k per 1 gold atm on our server.

    Well I guess people try to make money as much as they can for those who don't want to spend RL money. I knew it was RL money to buy it, I just didn't understand since I've seen people say zen and people say gold, so I wanted to know the difference before I go buy some. :]

    Another quick question.. there are no fees for buying zen, right?

    1 bit of advice, its depending on the item your going for.. but it may be wise to sell the gold you buy instead of purchasing the item.

    For example: Gold Charms are 4 gold in the shop, and about... 450k - 500k atm market price. And since gold prices are close to 200k a piece it may be wise to sell your gold since you can buy the item ingame for a cheaper price. *otherwise if you buy the charm right away for 4 gold that would be like 800k instead of 450k >_> See where im going with this?
