Questions about skills!

(sorry for my bad english).
before i mess up my skills, i have questions...
- is it worth it to get the hp and mana healing skills? their cooldown is like, 300 seconds... : /
- there are skills that requisite fox form skill first. do these skills work in normal (veno) form? or only fox form? like: purge, amplify damage...
so far i only have venom scarab, ironwood scarab, and heal / resurrect pet. i'm not sure what to get, i don't want to mess it up and waste my spirit.
thanks in advance

1. Very worth it. You can grind almost non-stop with them both, and a quick heal is always nice in emergencies.
2. Skills like Amplify Damage and Purge (get them, by the way) only work in human form. They are a part of the fox skill tree.0 -
i see, thanks
one more question... sometimes i find stronger monsters, they have stuff under their name like increased life or magical defence. can purge remove these? or what is it for?0 -
Those mobs give better xp and spirit if its a increased type ie increased life etc. If its weak gives about half of normal mob. I am not sure but I don't think purge changes that on the mobs though.0

They work in Humanoid Form? I thought, since they were on the Fox Tree, they were Only for use IN Fox form...Zetarana - Arcane Veno

I would consider Things like "Increased Defense" an inherent ability not subject to Purge which is for transient effects such as a Buff/Blessing.
I may be wrong but that's how I see it...Zetarana - Arcane Veno

Its always good to switch into fox to deal damage on mobs with magic resistance status under their name btw.Your casts will do no damage on them.
The higher you make your foxform(and even though you may not like it you will be switching into it a lot especially in instances due to the debuff skills)the less of your mana will be consumed(switching into fox each time takes off a percantage of your mana)Quit 100%...and surprised my forum account wasn't banned...yet0 -

Sorry, OP. -.-
Purge does not remove mods like Increased Attack or Increased Life.0 -

Yes you need fox form. The occasional purge and amplify makes IL mobs and bosses go much faster.0 -
Personally, I rarely use the HP heal skill as the casting time is too long for my taste and you are immobile while you cast it :oP For HP, I prefer pots, apothecary drinks, and the new multiflavor stuff from the jolly event.
I do, however, use the MP heal skill very often. Definitely get this skill, you will love it (saves $$).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
The MP heal skill takes just as long to cast as the HP one and you're just as immobile. Metabolic Boost isn't meant to be used in battle to heal you quickly. It's a skill you use in between mobs to heal damage you've taken. If you need to heal your HP quickly, Soul Transfusion(if your MP bar is full), apoth pots, event food, and a HP charm are much better options.
Metabolic can save you just as much money in pots as Nature's Grace if you know how to use it right.0 -

A) Tank some bosses where there is no Barb/Cleric combo available if no Herc, then one or two venos doing assist heals will suffice - veno squads are awesome. We did a TT 1-1 run with three venos using a Magmite as the tank.
DD and debuff where there is a Barb/Cleric present. If you read the Fox Form skills description, there are some pretty decent debuffs/curses on that tree that help to finish off a boss faster. Venos alone aren't very great DD's BUT when you jump to fox form for AMP damage and Soul Degeneration against a boss, it helps to finish the bosses faster because while youve got em maimed.. the wizards', BM's, and archers' DD attacks do more damage above that which you were doing yourself in Mage form.
C) Puller in FB/TT/FF
if your barb isnt intercepting agro in time - or you are pulling a really fast mob, you may want to be in Fox Form already when sending your pet in, as the additional pdef will help you survive.MentalEdge - Heavens Tear wrote: »Its always good to switch into fox to deal damage on mobs with magic resistance status under their name btw.Your casts will do no damage on them.
yes they do. just not as much as a normal mob. Killing an inc mag resistance mob takes about just as long as killin an inc life mob. hopefully you are using ironwood scarab towards the beginning of the fight so that your pet is dealing more damage than its base. and if you have a pet with howl (I may be putting this on my magmite soon) it debuffs their magical resistance in turn for you to be able to deal more damage.
Veno's arent really a melee class (especially not the arcane build like you have) so I wouldn't recommend maxing (or even getting) every skill on the fox tree.. Just one or two (till you get higher level). But by simply getting fox form alone, you are helping yourself out in some sticky situations. Exception to veno's being not a melee class is when you do PvP and take out other robe classes like Wizards, Clerics, and other Venos that don't go fox form.I'm a man0 -
Xymantha - Dreamweaver wrote: »correction.. amp and purge only work in FOX form. Purge is only really needed in PvP instances (or servers for that matter) as it can remove any buffs from an attacking player and help you (or your team) to (hopefully) kill them instead of you dying. Now.. there are some mobs that do end up with some positive state spells when you get to higher levels, but its not really worth it to jump to fox form for purge on a normal mob. And I've yet to see bosses that have positive state spells - even in TT 1-1 through 2-1. Amp damage - get it for sure! Even if its the only thing you get in fox form, it helps to finish off those bosses much faster - again.. not worth the mana loss to use on a normal mob though.
The way I see it, the veno class is for the following:
A) Tank some bosses where there is no Barb/Cleric combo available if no Herc, then one or two venos doing assist heals will suffice - veno squads are awesome. We did a TT 1-1 run with three venos using a Magmite as the tank.

I disagree, you can rack up a lot of damage in fox on mobs because of the increased physical damage from the form and the fast attack rate, and you will take down increased magic mob a lot faster in fox, especially after launching a quick ironwood.
I outdamage my own casting while in foxform, venos can easily be a melee class(unless i sage spark)
I should add, spirit is so easy to come by as veno and the money for the skills,i had every skill maxed before i hit 80 with loads of spirit left over,so levelling some skills in foxform early on won't hamper you any.Quit 100%...and surprised my forum account wasn't banned...yet0 -

I noticed you did, but it was alredy multiquoted, so i figured I'd go ahead and put that bit in thereb:chuckleI'm a man0 -

The increased resistance only means reduced damage and just a cast or two extra. Switching back and forth between fox and human forms cost far more mana than the extra casts. A pet with Howl helps too.0
