what class to be?

I suggest before you choose a character that you choose which type of server you want to be on. If you've not played a lot of MMO's before I will suggest a PvE server. Now that, that is out of the way...

It would be good for you to research the forums for what people say about each character. I've tried all but barb. But my preference may not be the same as yours.

This char is my highest level. Wizard is just a fun fun class to play. We don't PWN a lot especially til higher levels. I remember at level 16 I probably died 40 times!(but I was also used to my blade master, was hard to adjust)

I recently started an archer, which is just almost as much fun as my wizard. But as I have not got past level 40 I do not know yet. It may end up being more fun.

Cleric is a fun class, you can heal yourself and others. However; I've learned after 45 levels "others" are inappreciative and it takes a lot of patience. Matter of fact I think they also have more skills to have to try and get. I would suggest trying a FAC (attck cleric) if you roll this way.

Blademaster was always bland for me. I did the dual axes BM. I always wanted to try and roll a sword using or fist using bm but never have. They might be more fun. I quit mine after level 68 and haven't went back.

I got only up to level 10 with my veno. I got frustrated and quit. I deleted it, but have since made another I've not yet started. Its been said here if you wanna make/grind lots of money roll a veno. I may start on it when I get a bit bored of archer. But I know lots of people who have venos and they are fun for them. It all comes down to preference.

Either way, you will undoubtedly find something in this game for you. Its very fun, addictive at best. Enjoy. Do all the quests and enjoy the game. Don't be in a rush to get to the end.

Well...If you have patient to level up a wizard till 80+...You'll know how fun it is. Always beware of one thing though and that is... "Never plays a wizard without charm."b:victory

For clerics? Ress, heals, buffs (four single buffs, then the four one-level party buffs). Also at higher levels BB and RB.

Edit: You shouldn't pick a class based on what is most needed. If you dislike the class you won't want to play anyway. You should choose whether you want ranged or melee combat first, then choose accordingly. I'm partial to ranged ;x

Well, Pick a Blade Master for a combat pure.

Pick a Cleric for a RP and party/social player

Pick a Archer for Transportation and long ranged fights.

Don't pick a wizard, try cleric first.

Pick a veno for Assisted fight.

**** Barb for Hard Hits and incredible Strength.

To learn the basics without getting overly frustrated a safe bet would be blademaster.

If you're smart enough to keep urself out of harms way and like a challenge then Wizard/Archer are quite rewarding (i get killed before i know whats happening by Wizards and Archers quite a bit, lol.)

If you want to be called upon all the time for help in hard quests go for a Barb or Cleric, dungeon quest squads almost always want these classes there.

Go Veno if you want to be overpowered, lol

Don't roll mage unless you're a ****.

Cleric is nice, high demand and everyone loves them, especially when they need a rez.

No offense, but....wrong.

Pick cleric if you like helping people.

Pick Archer if you like ranged/high damage/killing people

Wizards are tough, but they're not un-playable. Try it out, if you don't like it, don't let ir ruin your impression of the game.

Pick veno if...um... Venos have pets that tank for them, and they're high damage dealers. They have their downsides, but they're pretty pwnsome.

Pick Barbarian if you like to tank, which is making sure bosses attack you and not the party. They have oodles of HP, but low damage and high repair costs. Pick at your own risk. It was my first class, and I adore it, but it'd not for everyone.

Pick a blademaster if you like to deal damage and not be squishy. They usually wear heavy armor, and have been known to tank. Should only tank as a last resort.

Please, PLEASE, speak for yourself only. Wizards suck til 89 but only if pure mag. Just because pure mag build is meant for 9X with really good equipment. Vit wizard do not suck from level one. Dunno about LA, but it also must be much better than pure.

Sure, we die a lot at lower levels, all the dieing slows down at about level 50


And it's hella fun killing a mob in 3 hits max lol.

I think wizard is the best class, thats my opinion.

I agree with this, I've tried 5/6 classes and wizard is still my favorite, archer is quickly becoming second. But wiz is still first.

I did mag with vit once every 5 lvls or so It worked out great and I loveeeeeeeee killing in just a few hits.

Pure mag either goes for pdef and ends up with extremely low hp, or (if not completely ****) pumps hp as much as he can - but pdef remains low. LA has some good pdef, but mdef is significantly weaker, and hp sucks. Vit has pdef, mdef and hp. Matk is not extremely high but enough to deal some damage. For example, last time i did fb29, there was high-7x veno with +4 sakyamuni's. i stole agro quite easily with my +0 wand and tanked it without any potions at all. then was fb39 when 78 archer told us that he'll tank... and then i found out that he had lower pdef and only barely higher hp.

Strange. It's cheaper to shard than to refine. Two 5g hp shards are +50 hp, +2 on lvl.8 arcane gear is only +34 but it is more expensive.

3. He refined a lot (for 7X). His weapon was +5, armor... +3 IIRC.
