Game crash in Archosaur

Hi guys,

So I've been having this issue for a while, and not only me, I have friends/guildies with the same problem:
- stay around the middle of archos for a while and voila: game crash.
- can't put a catshop anywhere close to trafic, the game will crash.

My PC isn't a rocket, but isn't a piece of **** either.
I tried to turn down graphics, set everything to minimum, nothing really works. Only thing that works is to stay out of big traffic.

thx

I minimize the game, but that doesn't help at all.

Setting up in West Archosaur is crazy, IMHO.

Try to sell your items in a context sensitive area.

This means, if your items are good for a dungeon, NPC quest, etc, then setup shop near the spot where you can sell those items best.

You usually have shoppers who knwo what they are looking for, and if you offer a convenience where that player doesn't have to go an mine those items, or seek them out otherwise, it makes it easier for both the buyer and seller.

Because you offer such a good convenience, you can usually charge a little bit more since you are so specialized and the items people need for a nearby NPC or quest are right there in your shop b:pleased

When you setup shop next to everyone else, you have to compete on prices, which is its own meta game.

If you are using a laptop, wireless connection, or older PC, the game can be 3d graphically intensive.
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

ok, let's say I grind on wine mats...
Setting up a shop around wine NPC is impossible to me.
Put a wine NPC in each of te major cities...or just spread around the damn NPCs that are amassed in west archos. PPL are flocking there cause u have everything close: tailor, apothercary, BS, justice, CS, WQ, bank, wine NPC, Arena , Merchant, jewel merchant...

    I'm having the same problem....

I'm in the West District of Archosaur (near the Banker) and everytime I try to log in, it has a major lag and then crashes....b:cry I'm really wanting to level up and get further in the game, but I can't do it if it keeps crashing. (It has crashed five times in the past half hour...and it takes FOREVER to log in...)

GMs, if it's possible, could you teleport my character to somewhere else so I can log in? :( Maybe the Northern Outskirts or something...

    Username: ______________
    Character name: SailorRocket
Location: Archosaur, West District (near the Banker)

Please help me. b:sad I'll try logging in again.

Try and lower the settings in your launcher before you start the game to reduce as much graphical lag as possible and see if that works

If you did set up show regularly, you would probably end up getting a lot of trade in front of FBs if you were selling ready made wines (outside FB89 for example). I cite the Teleport Stone seller at Step 29 of the WQ whom I notice trading every day and with constantly moving stock, who would probably do nowhere near as well in the middle of Archosaur.

On your original point - I don't seem to crash as often as others *touch wood*. I usually leave kitty selling overnight, and don't crash too often.

Your CPU is overheating from the processing power it takes to render everything. It happens to me and I have an Intel CORE i7 Quad.

well... normally if a CPU overheats, it'll usually restart or shutdown the computer entirely, doesn't usually cause a game crash

and if it's happening to your core i7, then there's something seriously wrong, you should really check your temps first to make sure it is a heat issue, and if it is, your CPU heatsink may not be seated properly or your computer case may have poor cooling

I've actually found since the 166 patch that my memory leak issues disappeared in West Archo. On 4 different computers, even (Core i7 920, C2Q Q6600, C2D T9550, P4 2.8). I can now keep my shop up near the blacksmith in West Archo and keep the screen in focus for half a day without so much as increasing 100MB of memory (it used to die within 20 minutes, when it pegged 2GB of memory used). Now, it pretty much always stays under 1GB, even after 2-3 *days* of being online and in West Archo. Have you guys all tried a verify on the files?

And yes, if you want West Archo to be less populated, quit putting unique NPCs in that area. There are about 40 people selling Wine mats not 20 feet from where I sit. You can barely *find* the wine merchant or the doorway behind him. Same with people selling gems around the Crazy Stone NPC. The platform where the Bounty Hunter is has already started filling up as well. That's what happens when you only have one NPC that *everybody* visits. Stick another one of each of them in North or South Archo and small clumps will disappear to hover around them, instead (and make life easier for people with lower-end computers who can't handle that many catshop models on screen).

Now about that jump jitter in the Snake Isle Dungeon race that dumps you in the water half the time...
