Why doesn't my genie's stamina bar go up? I get the system message saying, "You have feed your genie ###, genie's stamina has gone up ###," yet the stamina bar doesn't budge an inch. Why?

you fed your genie lets say 100 stamina, the genie has a maximun possible stamina of 999,999. That means your fed him 0.001% of its total stamina..... You will not see the bar moving for such a small increase.
Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.

So in other words the genies do not work? If you have to get a genie's stamina to full for it to do anything, yet you have to feed it what, over a thousands Yiyuan Stones to fill the stamina bar, but there is no way you can decompose that many chi stones, then it's useless. Just pretty there floating around you but no good in a fight.

No. Genies work even if their stamina bar is not full. What was said was about how the bar does not move because the actual increase is not enough to cause the bar to be filled at all due to rounding issues with pixels. That is, you cannot colour partial pixels and not a single monitor has enough pixels to show the difference.

For example, if your stamina bar was as wide as a 19-inch monitor at 1280 pixels, you would need to up the stamina by 782 for the monitor to change the colour of 1 pixel. And you know, that would be a difference of 1 in 1280, which is 0.078125%.
If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

Everyone wants to be different, but when you're different you wish you were normal.

Perfect stones are better, use them.

There are different levels of chi stones. Yiyuan is the lowest one. You don't absolutely need perfect stones, but you definately need higher then Yiyuan if you want your genie to gain any significant amount of stamina.

If you take all the armor, weapons and ornaments you get from monster drops their respective NPCs (tailor, blacksmith and craftsman) to be "decomposed" you will receive higher lvl chi stones. This is assuming that you have lvls higher then 1 in your manufacturing skills (tailoring, blacksmithing and crafting) as the same lvl to craft an item is also required to decompose it.

To be clear though, DO NOT merge low level stones to get higher level stones if you're just going to feed them to your genie.

A (level 1) Yiyuan stone gives 40 stamina to your genie, and three of them combine to make a (level 2) Liangyi stone, which gives 80 stamina. 3x40=120, which is greater than 80.

So, you're better off feeding the genie the chi stones as they are, instead of combining them to turn them into higher level chi stones.
