The game client crashes the system when I click create character. I've got ATI Radeon 9550 X1050 Series graphics card & have no problem with 3D games online even tho this card is legacy. I've read all the posts on this issue & the advice about going back down to Catalyst 7.7 but...

1. How do u do that when ATI site doesn't have it there?

2. That's going to **** up a lot of other things that require the latest drivers

Has anyone found a better work around or solution? Thanks.

I Have an Ati Radeon 4670 installed on my desktop with the latest catalyst drivers and I haven't experienced any problems with the game at any time.

If when the game crashes Windows or the game shows a message, take a screenshot of it and post'em on the thread to see what kind of error is.

Also you can submit a ticket to tech support attaching the dxdiag from your PC.

There is no error message shown. Many people have this issue with the create a character screen.

This is a VERY common compatibility issue many people are having on that same screen so PWI already knows all it needs to know to tell us what to do about it. It's not a unique & individual situation.

I find it VERY weird that everything always comes down to them asking for such detailed private information about the user's system. That makes me very uncomfortable.

I had that on my x1650, only Omega drivers worked for me.

I'm going to try this. Thanks so much for the tip. My sister is bugging me to death to get her set up on this computer. I am at my wits end trying to get answers from ATI on this. Wish me luck!

The issue only applies to ATI cards in an AGP slot; PCIe cards are fine.

This was EXCELLENT advice. Worked like a charm & now my system is running a lot smoother after getting rid of the horrible ATI Catalyst program.

Omega drivers FTW! Gee now that wasn't so hard was it? LOL
