All classes get a free flying mount (sword/wings/beast) at level 30 from a quest. These are infinite flying time, though they start with 150/300 seconds of accelerated flying time. Accelerated time can be recharged with chi stones.

Archers and Clerics start with a pair of white wings at level 1, that cost 2 MP/second to fly with, and don't have an accelerated mode.

They only cost 2/mp per second if you are an archer, clerics do not seem to lose any mana.
And if you are a winged elf, I would recommend staying with those. You get a move at level 9 that can increase your speed. It really helps a lot.

But the controls to fly are almost the same as walking. But there is no flip, and instead of jumping you use space bar to climb in air.

As a hint I recommend using the auto guide feature to fly, unless you just enjoy exploring the map. There you can use the alt+click on your large world map and auto fly there. Allowing you to set the altitude and if you are going to stop flying as soon as you get there.

    I hope this helped.

Not quite ... it costs 2 mp/s for both - it's just that Cleric's regen rate starts at 2 mp/s (so it cancels out) - and since they put lots of stat points in MAG, their regen rate will increase as they gain levels.

So you're not going to see yourself losing mana like an Archer, but you are regaining MP slower (assuming your mana pool isn't already full) - though you may not really notice it until you try fighting in the air!

Thanks a lot for that. I was unsure about Cleric and flight. Once, I was flying over a river in PWI and I mysteriously died. This started a dispute about Clerics and infinite flying time.

    Thank you anyway.

Clerics don't have infinite flying time on white wings, they just regen mp faster than the wings drain it. Though at lower lvls you will still lose mp while in combat mode, as that reduces your regen by 75%

So if you're in combat and low on mp, you'll still drop out of the sky once you reach 0 mp, just like archers

You probably died though by a mob shooting a ranged attack at you
