help please.. i still cant connect to sever

yeah,,so im basically new here..lol..ive played this game before on my laptop and computer at home..im at a relatives house and i downloaded the game..i also used a manual patch as well..when i enter the game and i try to login it says "unable to connect to server"..i tried turning off my firewall..but nothing and also i dont know how to do the port 29000 thing..and is that safe for my computer...i know ive seen many posts on this but nothing is working..what should i do..cause we really would like to play..oh i only see these "--"..things next to the servers..what does that mean..any advice or help would be appreciated and im so sorry for making someone go over this again..thanks in advance..b:pleased

yah i dont know what to do..id like to think ive tried everything..whole day im reading other posts about this problem and ive tried everything..hmph..im kinda starting to get frustrated lol..i wanna play..lol..my cousins too..this never happened to me before..but im patient ill wait..b:victory0

im so not computer literate..soo im totally lost.i know you've probably done this a gazillion billion times but could you tell me exactly what should i check for or do..im not certain..i dont know about the port thing.but i can tell you that i use windows vista and it goes to about 20 secs before it tells me unable to connect...so what should i do??...lol..0

oki so i read everything there and i tried everything but it still not connecting..the only good thing that happened is that before it would reach twenty and tell me unable to connect to server but now it goes to 11..still waiting..lol0
