Your thoughts on genie skill, "Mage Star"

I personally find this skill only useful when solo grinding with my wizard. It allows me to start up dragon breath taking like no damage from magic mobs while killing them for a bit. Unfortunately the problem is mage star overwrites cleric HP/MP regen buff and powders meaning it isn't really useful anymore for someone who hates using MP charms. I just want to know if it's really worth keeping just so I can aoe grind magic mobs without problem or should I just stick with something else?

I tested it and find it as one of most crappiest genie skills. Damage block is nice but too weak, just one-two hits; also, it wipes down cleric buffs - or, more important, apoth mp/hp regen potions. There are much more useful skills. Too bad only one wiz-specific skill is useful, aquaflame armor. But windshield is better, damage reduction is somewhat lower and it is not useable in the water but there is no damage amplification which can easily lead to self-pwnage. Developers do not like wizards in this game D:

Thanks for the info. I wasn't too happy about seeing my HP/MP regen buffs being ruined and the 120 energy cost but it was only useful when AoE grinding alone. Looks like I gonna need a stone of refreshment (if that's the correct name). I also heard new genie skills coming out soon so I going to see what happens first.

    A pick of useful skills,

1.Holy path- Makes grounded pvp much easier, also generally nice to have.

2.Wind shield- Makes us less squishy for a small amount of time.

3.Metal shieldy thingy- Nulifies half a clerics arsenal.

4.Wood shieldy thingy- Nulifies Veno spells(Not much use =\)

    5.Cauterize- Removes bleed

    6.Blood clot- Prevents bleed

7.Occult Ice- Chance to freeze opponent (control skills ^-^)

8.Extreme poison- Amps all damage on your target

    9.Adrenaline Surge- Prevents sleep

    10.Fortify- Prevents stun

11.Spark- Combined with undine you end up doing close to 100% of your potential Fire Damage

12.Cloud Eruption- Gives 100+ chi to you and people trying to kill you =\(Kinda like a sage chi buff with a downside)

    pwi programmer hate wizard.
and i found no wizard GM so far.

lol, I also notice some other classes getting more magic shields to deal with wizards which is a good clue they hate us. Anyways thanks for the help. I will choose Occult Ice to replace mage star. b:cute

I agree GM's don't have much love for us wizzies. b:surrender
Heck Dvorak the leader of the GM's (Great Minds) is a BM.
Not to mention a great deal of the GM's are in fact BM's or Veno's.

They way i see it no matter what happens we wizzies will prevail and take our rightful place as the head of Perfect World.

Tree of Protection and Extreme poison are the only two that are ESSENTIAL to us. Your other two skills are a matter of preference, but I'm leaning towards Holy Path, and Windshield. Maybe occult ice, but that would entail dumping a whole bunch of affinities into water.

I'd remove spark from my list... only seems effective in pve now. It got nerfed in the warsong expansion, use poison/elemental weakness instead for more damage.

    1. Tree of Protection
    2. Extreme Poison
    3. Franzy
    4. Holy Path

    Tree = life saver
Extreme Poiso + BT = arcane DEAD
Franzy + BT (in TW) = all arcane DEAD
Holy Path = escape from high lvl pker LOL

    Mage star is utter ****.

It is not ****, but it is just that there is much better skill that deserve that spot than Mage Star.
