Hi , I'm BirdBoo from sanctuary server , and i have problems catching these rare pets. I arrive at the spawn , theres lots of venos , it spawns and i cant even target it before it's tamed. And i know that -channeling gear and powders help , but im only 38 so cant use the powders/afford the gear :( Could anyone help me get the Rare pets , please? I really want them , but cant afford buying them b:cry

    blah just ignore them XD

    dont waste your time just grind lv up and buy one from someone else. There's a reason why we have farmers in this game, so they can do the work for us while we save ourselvs some time. lets just hope it's not to over price in your server *cross's fingers*

    Maybe because most of them farm them for cash. Ive seen the same people there caught the pig about 5times already :S

    The only problem is that I cant seem to make that lot of money. Most of the cash goes to skills.

    Are you sure about the "most" in your answer? Or was it just some? Or just a few? Maybe even just a single person? Are you sure that you have seen all or even most of the people waiting for the rare pets to spawn while you have been there? Questions over questions...

    Lol, farmers are the scum of mmorpgs. They are what ruined WoW. Spawn times should be random.b:chuckle

    There is simple solution. Just don't buy. If nobody buys it would be just a waste of time to farm, right? Just think about it. It always needs two people to make a deal.

    Lol, I've always wondered about that. Those rare pets don't have better stats than, say, a free golem anyway. It's not like a herc or nix, something that is actually useful. Why do ppl buy those?

    Its ok, soon they will be complaining they are entitled to more money to buy herc, or that they are entitled to free armor or whatever....

    If you do not want to pay for the items, GET CHANNELING GEAR AND GO CATCH A PET. Channeling bonuses can be found in any item, even items for level 1 players, so stop being lazy and have the all "I am entitled" attittude and go find gear to make it possible for you to catch one of those pets...

    Many of the rares actually have the "best" stats you can get outside of the two cash shop pets. The cub/bear is the best combo of hp, pdef, and mdef. Same goes for the pig as an air pet. The kitty is for its level the fastest pet you can get. etc.

    A high price is what results whenever demand exceeds supply. The price stabilizes at a point where demand (at that price) matches the supply. The obvious interaction everyone sees is that if you don't buy, the price goes down. But the not-so-obvious interaction is that if you tame the rare on your own (i.e. a farmer doesn't get it), supply decreases* and the price goes up. So sadly, the only way to decrease the price is for people to give up ever obtaining a rare pet. In other words, if you ever do anything to make a dent in the prices, you yourself will not benefit from the lowered price.

    That said, if you want to increase your chances, there was a pretty good thread long ago. Lemme find it for you....

    Unfortunately, the game has matured since then and a lot more people have access to channeling equipment and powders. So having good equipment is a lot more important now than it was then.

    *Actually both supply and demand decrease by one, but since demand is much greater than supply, the drop in supply has a much greater impact than the drop in demand.

    srry had to one time i caught a snowhre at timber north of etherblade btw i was only lvl 20 too lol so anythings possible

    Well snow hare is easy , and not many venos there and it spawns every hour , so much easier than like the pig which has only 1spawn point . The point where it spawns is always surrounded with 10 or more venos =/ About the channeling gear yeah i've been trying to find some but they cost like hundrets of k.

    yes... and there's one robe that has -3%, but it's rank gear.

    I know how hard it is to catch rare pets. I ended up buying my tabby pretty cheap, my pig was a gift :D I still use both of them. I also met some high lvls who offered me help and tried to catch a rare for me for free.

    when I started the tabby was around 700k in catshops, then went up to 1 mil, and 2 days ago I saw it for 500k in 2 different catshops. maybe the prices will go down on your server too...

    That took 5k rep to get (chest armor). It goes up to -6% at level 99, but you need 35k rep to get that one. Nigh impossible since they removed the darkness stamps from FBs higher than 59.

    I think there's also a cloak which gives -3% channel.

    Yesterday somebody without channeling gear or windraged incense caught the Shaodu Cub :D Even more impressive was the fact that she beat a high-leveled pet farmer with -36% channeling and windraged.

    That is the -3% cloak in the image (mistranslation). I still get quite a bit of darkness stamps for doing unwined 59's, and there are One Man Army quests and tabbed FBs for rep.

    I see. Yeah, they really screwed up with their multiple uses of "robe". Just to be clear, it is a chest piece. You can see what it looks like when worn in my pic.

    i think vipions r the best fruit droppers not sure which ones though sorry...just fly and kill a few vipions :p shouldnt be too hard
    just make room for a flying pet if u have one...and goodluck on trying to catch the piggy b:victory

    No i don't have a flying pet , i don't like the insects and foxwings =/ Thats why im trying to get a piggy.

    There's a breakdown for you of rep per level. Here's the spreadsheet itself to get that data: http://www.evilgamer.net/utilities/59drops.xls. Your rep rate has slowed every single time you've leveled since 63. One man armies are a poor replacement for 59, and only ever beat 59 at one specific point, with a full squad, and then you're back to 59 being the best choice with it getting worse as you level because your increase in dps from being a higher level doesn't outpace the rate in which drops decrease.

    FB's are an option for sure, but that's a poor replacement too. You would come out ahead making a veno alt, taking it to 63, and running through 59 a few thousand times, bringing your main in to loot all the stamps. When I used to run it at 67 I think it took me an hour to clear through water (not including the boss), if you could do that at 63 it would be 104.83 rep per clear, say you have 10k rep already, another 25k would "only" take 239 hours of clearing.

    I wouldn't necessarily say that. All aazadan's post showed is that number of stamps you got per kill goes down as you level. But your pet and spell damage goes up as you level, so you will kill mobs quicker. So you get fewer stamps per kill, but more kills per hour, leading to an unknown effect on your stamps per hour rate. As I said in my reply in that thread, what really matters is your rep per hr rate, not rep per kill rate.
