I'm sorry PWI but im pissed. A lottery for a friggin mount? So let me get this straight you want us to gamble our IRL money for gold just to take a chance, a 0.2% chance at gettin a rare mount only to end up with nothing but useless items and alot of dissapointment?
Soz but this smells of another scam. You've thrown a lion mount into everything from charms to rainbow eggs and that very small percentage is **** poor. STOP doin such **** ideas PWI giving us hope on something we want only to throw us dissappointment instead. I've been playing this game for nearly a year and its the same old routine: New ideas by PWI to make more money out of us, I don't even want to think of how much cash I've pumped into this game, let alone other ppl.
Point is im done with this game, I'm NOT wasting my time on another PWI scam. On a game where GM's don't really care for it's users after all, they only care for our money nothing else. Seriously do the math, sum1 will get a mount out of every 10000 eggs and out of a 0.2% or your hard earned cash it aint worth it, at least not for me.

its called gambling for a reason, youre not always going to win.
note: your cash is what gets bugs worked on, keeps the game free, runs server maint, among other junk. its called a business, they need money too.0 -
You are not forced to participate in the scam. Anyway later you can buy the lion mount from the people who won it. Relax Captain Justice...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
You all annoy me...0 -
dont like the packs? dont buy it, simple as tht...i bought 12 eggs, got nothin so i just gave up on that.
and its not the gm's fault, they r not the developers, dont start blaming them.
this is a F2P game, nd the cash shop is the only way they can get money. as they are a business, they'll need the money.

How is it a scam? They've been upfront with the chances of getting the mount... You have all the information so you can either participate, knowing your chances, or not. I think I might try a few, but if I don't win anything, I'm not going to cry about it. I know the chances are incredibly low, but then that makes it all the sweeter if you win b:cute[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

The problem is not that chances are low, but that PWI don't tell you the chances are low(btw, 0.02%, not 0.2%). In fact, they actively advertise the lion mount to push the eggs without telling you the chances or even mentioning that the chances are low.

Chances of winning lottery is next to none. But it's not considered a scam because everyone knows their chances and are well informed. People know what they are getting into.
Chances of winning a Lion mount is next to none. And it is considered a scam because, you're required to search a third party database to find out the low chances. People do not know what they are getting into.

There is a difference. Consumer satisfactions matters. Those noobs are the people who buys gold. Rich TWers and venos exchange coins for gold. **** off the gold buying noobs and you have a dead free-to-play game.0 -

Tearvalerin - Sanctuary wrote: »note: PWdatabase was stated to be inaccurate in the actual expected win rate of the eggs by xarfox
I find some inconsistencies with that statement. PWdatabase gets there info from ripping apart the game files. Only way the win rate would be inaccurate is if the GMs here changed the win rate, but they have stated before they cannot do that. Hmmmm....0 -
1. thatd be illegal if they did that...
2. http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=350061&highlight=PWdatabase+inaccurate it can be inaccurate at times.0 -
I had no idea the chances were so low.
I opened about 75 eggs yesterday.....sigh...no lion. If I had known the % before hand i wouldn't have bothered....oh well...lesson learned. b:cryb:surrenderRetired

woot i feel better now i only open 40 and got nothing XD lol you're me hero for buying more eggs than me XD kudos to you
well i would like to see the cooldown on some of the items we get from the the egg down to 10sec rather to a min... it would be a bit more useful0 -
Are you people mildly **** or what? Srsly >.>
It's not a scam, it's a gamble. Scam would be selling the eggs with 0% of winning it. Anything else from 0.01 to 99.99% is a gamble. Which is part of the fun.
Furthermore, NO ONE is forcing you to spend real life cash. There's an auction house, it has an option to turn your in game coin into gold - use it. The gold is there for the taking, it's entirely up to you whether you'll use it to buy clothes, charms or rainbow eggs. Or whether you'll even buy it or not for that matter.
I actually like the odds. It's supposed to be a RARE mount. If every random noob with couple hundred k could get one (75 eggs, srsly? >.>) it would be more common than the panther. Which would kind of ruin the entire RARE thing it has going for it, wouldn't you agree?
FYI, I know a guy who spent roughly 8mil ingame coin for a lion. You do the math as to how many eggs that is. And the market value is easily 5 times as much. And there's also a guy who opened 7 eggs and got it on his 5th try (or so he says). So yeah, luck. Chance. Odds and probability. Not everyone's a winner. Deal with it.b:dirty0 -

Would it have made a difference if they had included the formulaic: "Many will enter. Few will win." that you see on every other merchandising lottery out there?"?" IS my avatar.0 -
Rare items are rare, you should expect the rates to be really low on these kind of things. If you don't your a fool0

Yes, it would then technically not be a scam, even if they don't mention the exact chances. PWI isn't bound by the law to add in that line, since Zhen is considered a "service."
So goes the buy an egg, win a lion mentality.0 -
b:sad
So much QQ about people who wants everything handed to them on a shiny golden platter.
This game would lack the excitement about getting rare items if some people on this thread got their way.
Imagine a game with absolutely no rare items to it??tatuaje: grinding mobs and zhenning ???
frankieraye:All right, I admit it, it's a bit retro. lol.0 -
It is without a doubt, something only illogical people would buy.
It's on basis with a lottery, with .02% the payout of winning most bad lotteries.
This is of course based on percentage to obtain said mount vs price of egg.
Purchase of said item defies what makes free markets work.
Edit: To clarify.
The point is not that you don't have to buy this item, but when a trusted entity sells a poor item, they lose reputation. No one has to buy anything, but whenever a company rips someone off or produces a poor item, there reputation is lowered. Why would this be any different?0 -
Well my friend got a lion mount on his first try out of 75 eggs. Also if you think about it, 25 silver is a quarter (in the USA) so it's not alot. Along with what everyone else stated, it's optional to buy the rainbow eggs. Stating that the rainbow eggs are a scam is like saying that a real life lottery is a scam and you can't really quit life (unless you suicide).0

Lol, exactly. The problem is not that chances are low, but that they advertise it as if the chances are high. It's deception.
If they tell you that chances are low, there wouldn't be a problem. On the other hand, fewer eggs would be sold. Although fewer zhen-buying noobs would quite the game.
PWI is spending its reputation and player base to make a quick buck.0 -
Sorry to say but its actually .02% chance, not .2%.
If you bought eggs from the cashshop for 25s on average you would have to pay 1250 "gold" for your lion mount.
(Which is 1125 USD with the bonus 10%)
Always a good idea to figure out the odds before you start spending money.0 -

Sorry, but where do they advertise as if the chances are high? All they say is that you have the chance to win amazing extravagant prizes, which is true. Lotteries advertise the winning amount just as enthusiastically.
Anyone with a shred of common sense would know that "rare prizes" implies that your chances are slim. Otherwise it wouldn't be "rare."0 -

High, as in higher than 0.02%. Justify it however you want. Zhen-buying noobs quit the game over this. PWI's lifespan will lessen, that's the part I don't like.0 -

So goes the buy an egg, win a lion mentality.
As it says in the description : 'Has a chance to contain the legendary Goldmane Lion . . ."
The second you see 'has a chance' you know it's not a sure thing. After that it's the consumer's choice whether or not to do some research on rates.
Not a scam. An overpriced lottery ticket - but not a scam.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thanks for the sig Ophida0 -
It would not be illegal to change rates of winning, only immoral.
.02% translates to odds of 1 in 5,000
Unless you buy 5,000 eggs and still lose then your argument could be more valid. Then again you can buy just one egg to win. It's like playing the lottery, if everyone won the prize would be extremely small.0 -
I'm sorry, but where are you getting this .02% info? If it's anything other than an official PWI source, your claims aren't considered true. Pwdatabase isnt an official PWI site from what I know, and GMs have even stated that some of the info (including this subject) isnt true.
So anyways. .02% chance is a lie. No one knows the official rate except for the Devs/Gms0 -
