The option to see helms/capes.

As a newer player "fresh meat". I was curious about being able to view my helm/cape as the helms and capes are the only two pieces of gear that cannot be seen? Why is this? Just a curious question from a newer player. I am betting this question has been asked/answered more then a dozen times I just would like to know for my own thoughts.b:surrender

Well, I guess technically there isn't any real reason why they shouldn't be visible, they just aren't. They just serve as equipment that augments your character further.0

I'm not new but have often wondered this myself. I also have wondered why charging into battle we don't have shields. I have no answer for you but wanted to comment its not just cause you are new. Us that have been here quite awhile also have wondered the same things.Cybersoldier - Dreamweaver wrote: »As a newer player "fresh meat". Thank you Bratfury. Uhm Yeah good call on the shields have not seem them yet either... :S Two things hopefully the PWI crew checks over in future patches.
Best luck to you two thanks for your feedback.0 -
As stated by the GMs, since this game provides for such a great head customizations (except for barbs), it would be a nightmare to try to align all the meshes to make helmets visible. Also, everyone would look the same, since there is no way to customize the helmets, therefore making all the customizations of the head irrelevant.
The capes I never seen a GM reply, but it is maybe because it is very hard to render the flowing motions, and it would take lots of work and processing power to just render a flowing cape.Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.0 -

This.
A lot of the headgear icons look stupid anyways imo[offering art commissions, pm for more]0 -
ok still remains, why don't we have shields for a bit of extra defense? Shown or NOT I think that kinda fits the rush into battle theme?Serafimo - Sanctuary wrote: »This.

Cause it wouldn't be exactly fair to certain classes like us archers that use two handed weapons. The only way to win is to quit. b:bye0

This thread was originally made by me. I had this idea. It IS an awesome idea, and I completely Support this.

Exact same thread with the exact same words? :P lol. Yeah most helms do look dumb but for the fact that you can't see the helms/capes is just lame its like they forgot about it an just did not go back to the idea...0 -
it is a rather bad idea, as itd ruin the point of having face/hair customization.0

Zoe, think spandex...... Just because you can wear it, does not mean you should... samething applies to some of the ideas or liberties games take...Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. What I meant was that they kept adding bonuses for shields when only 2, maybe 3 of the 8 classes even used them, but they also applied to weapons although half the classes used a 2 handed weapon, so they could not get that bonus either.
They added all this with a complete disregard for class balance.Main characters

no it would only give the player more options on how they would want to look0 -

If shields were like helms, there but not seen; then feesibly you could have one no matter your class. Even if it offered optional defense very low such as 2 per every 10 levels with optional blue stuff as usual it would be a very cool thing for them to implement. Or better yet, Shield specific per class. Such as VIT for humans, DEX for untamed or STR for winged. (Just suggestions) anyways I think it would be kind of a neat thing for them to implement.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

One reason I'm really glad PW had the sense to make dual-weapons into a single weapon (rather than 2, one to each hand).
If I think I know which mmo you're refering to, yes, it was pretty much insane. It was kinda like, say, a bm having two calamaties, one to each hand, thus getting the weapon bonuses doubled and double the socket slots.
A lot of mmo's have capes though, so it certainly isn't an impossibility.0
