There is no way they can avoid it. They can't let all these glitches go til next maintenance. So expect some emergency maintenance soon. They've had enough time to sift through the codes and see what went wrong, so as soon as they have it all ironed out they will be able to shut us down, fix it and bring it back up. I don't think that will mean them taking anything out of the game, "other than the glitches" :) Besides they aren't going to refund everything that has been spent in the last 12 hours or so.
