ingame gold prices

why are ingame gold prices always going up ive heard that others servers pay 80-100k but on our server gold run upward of 140-160k+ any thought on how to bring gold prices down and keep it that way. i know im all whiney why dont i spend real cash and get my gold that way but hey im cheap and i want to buy my gold in game. so should we boycot gold buying or what??

    Ingame gold prices on DW and HL are high because events requiring Cash Shop items were brought in while the servers were still new without any gold stability. I doubt it will be going down any time soon, with the way the events and releases are going... most people have just gotten used to it.

    the currancy is different on each server like Dreamweaver is most expencive cause not alot of ppl are on it so its not common u know?

    OK new patch in and price of gold is gone trough the roof..
    your looking at 148 - 300 K per..
    And yes some people are stupid enough to pay the 300...

    They should put a zen sale on at the same time as new items come out...i think more people would buy ......

    i must admit , the gold prices are steep , however , who says you need to buy gold to play the game ?
    you can complete all quests your level with straight NPC gears and weapon easily.
    if your into PK or TW's , thats a different story...
    and if you want the fancy mounts , airgear , fashion etc.. , it is your decision , not a requirement :)

    140k for 1 gold isnt really bad...i make so much money in this game and its crazy....just by selling DQ in cat or vend, and selling armor, mats, and other various things.

    Well, 140 would be ok but you should put it in context. A couple weeks ago it was 130, before that it was 120. As I type this it's 150 (average of 143.7 on the board). I've been watching the price of it at various times each day (random times, not set ones) and the price has been going up by an average of about 2-3% a week. That's a 280%-365% increase over a year. Prices probably won't end up getting that high, but it's still a rather sharp increase. Anyways, prices never go down, only up with the sharpest increase so far happening during the esoterica sale.

    I would guess part of it is due to the prices of our normal items, not sure what they go for on other servers but I doubt TT1-1 items sell for 100k each on the older ones.

    Edit: Checked again after typing this out, and it went to 160, with an average on the board of 149.66 and the lowest of 143.6 (notice, almost higher than the average just a few minutes ago). The prices really have gone crazy.

    Greed? for selling REAL LIFE MONEY? Just be happy that you can enjoy the game without being forced to pay any money. These gold sellers are using REAL LIFE MONEY to keep the game running. If no one did this, you would not be playing. And besides, its not them controlling the gold prices, the buyers control the prices, not the sellers.

    Edit: I dont know where you get your numbers but, even sanctuary has 140k per gold. Im pretty sure Harshlands would have the highest gold prices being that it is new and is a PvP server. Meaning gold = a must for GAs, Charms, phoenix.

    It's not so much that the prices are high, personally that doesn't bother me, so long as they remain stable. Our prices are very unstable though and are pretty much guaranteed to rise every single day. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad people can buy gold and sell it to players for ingame coin but the way our gold trader is right now, it makes prices very hard to predict. Whether they settle at 100k or 500k isn't really important so long as they remain stable. High fluctuations or inflation are prohibitive to people trading/selling boutique items, or people predicting the amount of coin they need to get whatever they want.

    the flux of gold prices and the high cost of gold on this server translates into one thing. we have alot of greedy **** on this server.
