How CS dependent is the game? As in, do you have to spend lots of real money in the game to actually be good?

You can play the game just fine without using $$. I think the items in CS can be divided in 2 categories:

    1. Stuff to accelerate your progress. Mounts allow you to travel faster, training esoterica allows you to lvl up faster, etc.

    2. Useless stuff, like fireworks and pretty clothes (for cosmetic effect only, no stats).

The beauty of PW is that it's not a spending spree grand prix, where you have to spend a lot to be on top. The CS is absolutely optional. Everything for sale can also be obtained either from questing or trading with other players (as all items can be re-sold).

The guy who showed me this game is a lvl 94 Wizard, who's an unemployed deadbeat and couldn't have possibly spent any money on a game.
