Question about flying pet mechanics...

So, I searched the forums to the best of my ability, and have yet to find an answer to this question. If it's posted somewhere and I missed it, I apologize.

I was wondering: Do flying pets take any sort of stat deduction when they attack a ground mob? My guess is that they probably don't, but I wanted to double check.

Thanks! :D

If you and the pet are both on the ground, then no. If you're flying and attack a ground mob, there is a deduction but I'm not sure of the amount. This applies to all classes though, as far as I know.

It's half damage from air to ground. I believe that counts for flying mobs too.

My pet doesn't seem to suffer the damage reduction whether or not I'm on the ground.

But maybe I'm not paying close enough attention. b:surrender

It's because it doesn't matter whether you're on the ground or not, the pet is flying there for it's damage is reduced.

This wouldn't apply to clerics or archers.
Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.

Their air to ground damage will be reduced by 50% but Damage over Time (Flesh Ream) does get reduced.

you dont know what you are talking about.

go attack any land mob while standing.

    Now attack it while flying.

You will see your damage is greatly reduced. (it also is in pvp)

Damage reduction for air to ground is on your attacks, not the pet's. ;-)
