I've played at least 15 free MMO's, ranging from Gunbound to like...[removed]. Is there anything unique or new brought to the table?

Well, for one you are not allowed to mention other games in this boards. Here are the rules.
http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=63291
Besides that, this is an asian developed, asian themed (plus elves) mmo.
There is not much of anything new that can be brought up to the table in mmos. We have races and classes, and custom clothes, and mounts, and flying mounts. You do quests, and grind, and Pk (or not, you do have an option, depending on which server you choose). Make money, spend money, socialize.
The bigged plus for me is the fact that gold selling is integrated into the game, so you can sell gold (bought with real money) for in-game coins, using the auction house, so it pretty much removes gold scamming out of the game, since you have to list the gold with the in-game auction house, so it has to be in your account, when you listed it gets removed from your account, than you choose a price you want to sell it for. If anyone wants to buy it, they go to auction house, browse the gold sell offers and buy the gold with ingame coins, and the gold gets transferred to their accounts.
You can also sell ingame all the items in the cash shop, so even if you do not want to spend real money, you can always save and use ingame coins to buy the same items from other players.
Those 2 features were what made me stick with this game over all the others out there.Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.0 -
I came from an equally diversified MMO experience before I stumbled upon this game. None of them quite sucked me in the the way PWi has, and so quickly.
You either love it or hate it. Give it a try. You'll hardly get anyone that tells you the game sucks on these forums, though. Kinda biased, don't you think?0 -
That rule made me giggle a little. Ah well, I should have had much hope. I have a personal aversion to level treadmills, the game was pretty though and customization was really appreciated. (lol, pity preset)
Not a bad game as far as the genre goes, I just usually need some diversity in the experience.
Edit:
Er does a casual mention with zero detail fall under that rule? Just for curiosity, it's a bit vague.0 -
Before I start playing a game, I research it to see if I like it (read reviews, watch videos on youtube, view the forums). If I think I may like it I can download the game and play. Good luck finding an MMO if you don't even do any research on your own.0

Make sure you do quests, and find quests (in the quest window), and before you know it you'll be at level 30, and start flying around with even more stuff to do.
From what I can tell (as you can see from my Avatar, I'm not a veteran) leveling slows down later, but by then it's too late and you're hooked. b:laugh
Edit:
It took me roughly a month to hit level 38, playing for at most 15-20 hours a week.
Playing slowly, mind you. I tend to fly and alt-tab out to surf the web or wander off to watch TV while he goes. (I've got 16 quests outstanding at the moment, heh.)0 -
in this game its easy to level to the "end game" levels (100+) but much harder to have the money and people to help get your equipment0
