Can you abandon a pet?

I'm wondering whether you can discard of a pet one it has been placed in your pet bag?
I don't want to waste the precious spot I have let if you can't. b:bye

    There's a convert to egg option at the pet skill trainer. Once it's been converted, you can either sell or drop the egg.

    yep, you can use the "revert to pet egg" option at the same NPC you use to hatch it, it'll turn back into an egg and you can do whatever you want with it ^^

    Don't abandon the poor pets, now they are tame they wont be able to survive in the wild.
