low damage and survivability at low levels.

Comment to previous one, survivability matter of build... not the weapon type itself.

About weaknesses, I would say lack of aoe skills and lack of high spike damage. Short weapon range is sometimes bad too.

nope. i had fists since very low level... had vit added. but survivability was very poor. too much contact to mobs. it only changed after getting sutra.

I just started a fist bm yesterday and I am surviving just fine, I am lvl 15, I am using a combo of light and heavy armor putting just enough str for the weapons and the rest in dex. I am hard to hit, to both mobs and other plauers, because my evasion is high and I have a high crit rate. My other bm is lvl 25 and has the same crit rate as my lvl 15

Only downsides i have noticed is the short range screws you against running mobs, otherwise the damage seems to work out to be about the same. I would like 1 more Aoe, but cyclone heel and drake sweep work out well enough.

Skills-wise, the only ones you need of the ones before lvl 29 will be for the stat effects. I do as much damage with normal attacks as i would if i used tiger maw or stream strike, so i mostly just stick with bleeding them.

I've found survivability is hard if you wear light armor, but heavy armor+the alter marrow makes it much simpler.

It's no miracle work, one on one just cyclone heel and attack, it's super fast.

And you can get into higher lvls just fine by taking mobs one on one.
Of course you 'can' take on more if you choose the right mobtype, but that does either tick your charm, or burns through MP faster than i'd like.

I wouldn't really think of that as a disadvantage though, since i just recently added axe moves to my repertoire, and while i now 'can' solo AoE grind i find it too expensive, so i'm just sticking to fists.

So it can be seen as a disadvantage or not, just depends on your play-style i guess.

Inb4 "fists suck at PvP", i'm a PvE player and really couldn't care less, don't need that spike damage b:pleased

PS.: Why would you only use one weapon type at higher lvls? You got all those skills to choose from, why not use them once you have the excess spirit? In 1-on-1 situations (i.e. bosses) i found fists to be superior, while axes are a better choice against groups...
I'll get a sig when i need one...

    The main disadvantage are:

ignorance: from other BMs and from other players. I will not elaborate much on this. but so you know most player think that BM can AOE with any weapon and most axes guys only solution for every situation is to AOE.

BM game function: Certain things in the game are setup for BM Axes mainly. A good example is RB.

Saying that, I get the most satisfaction with my fists.

Axes kill many mobs quicker but ther cost per mob is my issue. Since I use both weapons, I notice I can kill more mobs per minute with my axes but the cost per mob is higher(MP and HP use mostly) is higher than when I grind with fists.

You can kill mobs very cheap with fists.

For that reason, I grind mobs 1v1 and if I get teamed by mobs I switch to my axes.

I forgot to mention that dex does not help much with magic opponents (defence wise), magic does not miss. Saying that, if you use skills to counter magic opponents, these skills are most likely to land as you have high dex.

I picked up fist weapons on my BM a few days ago mostly because people seem to hate them so much. She now uses everything but axes... so she's basically a walking spite machine. :D Or so I like to think, anyway. Now I just have to have her catch up on her dex before Lv60 so she can use Annihilator of Souls (along with Petrified Lance and Illusive Lunar Cutlass).

I've found that shadowless kick is the best skill of the bunch (so far) on monsters which start with a magic attack. If you make that your opener you can negate their first attack and engage them on their own level. This only fails to work on monsters whose only attacks are magic... e.g. the Scrunchkin Sorcerers near Tusk Town who only do poison and manaleak (the latter, they do a LOT)... because the cooldown on it is 12 seconds.

Cyclone Heel is good for AoE grinding, also... with this and the two AoE attacks every BM gets, you have three skills you can switch between (kind of like spear users getting Meteor Rush).

And as far as MP use goes? Focus Powder is your friend for AoE grinding. :)

Yes, I'm still a stubborn holdout in favor of the old game. Haters gonna hate. ;]

    Other Active Characters:
LigerKing (Barb), Girasole (BM), Shamsheer (Sin), ArborSoul (Mystic).

After lvl89 u can "aoe" with demon spark.
12k crits in 2.00 attack speed..... And i dont even have interval -0.1 arms yet (-0.05 atm)

Can take 4 mobs at a time and wont even tick charm. (Takes 30secs to recharge sparks after effect is gone)
