I made one for Team Fortress 2 in a week or so, so I know this isn't hard to do.

Don't get me wrong here, I love the music in the game, but I grit my teeth when I here the same music repeat itself over and over.

What say the public?

Well, I mean any Media Player in general.

    IMO: WMP>iTunes.

But to further this, would it be against the rules for me to make one and release it to the public for download? I'm sure if I tweak my TF2 one a bit, it would work just as well on PWI.

I'd prefer something like a music playing orb (a bit like in a certain other game that shall not be named here...lol).
A player could buy basic music orbs from npcs with coin which would have pre-determined music tracks on them (most likely any/all of the PW ones), but players should also be able to buy a special music orb from the CS which would allow them to play any track they load up into it (only one track per orb). Orbs could range from perminant to cheap ones with a time duration (i.e. once played the orb expires).
The orbs reside in the players inventory and could be right clicked to use and orbs with exactly the same music track and restrictions could be stackable like with potions.
The difference with this idea is...any player in the immediate vacinity of the player playing the track can hear the music.

I think this would add a new amuseing aspect to the game.
Also perhaps a disco light effect (or a disco ball like with a certain character in a certain beat 'em up years ago) could be displayed/activated while the music is playing.
It's a given that this idea is more complex, but I think it'd be more amuseing if it can be pulled off. Likely it'd take a long time of devleopment and research though to get it just right for this game, if it can be done at all.

However, I'm still all for your music player idea...mainly 'cos there's certain PWI music I like to listen to more than others, and maybe this will allow me to do so...lol. (I do love the in-game music...just that at the moment if I wanted to, say, listen to the music that plays in Charr the Growling's area in Archosaur...I can't). I actually have preference to the music at the log-in screen and one which has drums playing quite a bit, think it plays in an fb area and one or two town areas...but not enough..lol...need...more...heh.

I sign this one. I have WMP playing in the background anyway with the music turned off but a plug-in would be better and less resource intense. The music in PWI is okay...but it is very repetitive and the lack of tracks makes it horrible fast.

Wow, you pretty much nailed my ideal complaint right on the head. PWI's music is god, but there isn't enough of it, so it gets repetitive fast.

Not true. My Team Fortress 2 WMP Plugin takes less than 3MB RAM and is built into the Main Menu's GUI, which is accessible by simply pressing ESC, thus reducing CPU usage.

This is Lobotomy posting with another character BTW.
