Axe weapon question

Apparently there are many types of weapons. I was wondering, what is the difference between 2h axe and dual axes, and which ones are much better?

Also, I've been looking into the two stickied guides, and I'm seeing two basic builds that both have stated.
There is the 3-1-1 build and the Stats for axes then all to Vit. I am also wondering which option is the better one.

    The 2 handed axes/hammers are a little bit quicker than the dual axes/hammers. But the damage on the dual axes/hammers is a little bit higher than the 2 handed ones....In the end they balance out to be about the same.

    there are 3 basic builds for Axes.

    every two levels.....

    6str/1dex/3vit (high HP, tank style build, lots of misses but lots of HP, good for PvP)
    6str/2dex/2vit(balanced build, even blend of hp and dex. Solid for both PvP and PvE)
    6str/3dex/1vit(High Dex build, fewer misses, more crits, best for PvE)

    Any of these will work. Depends on what your looking for. Even with the High Vit build, you will still not be the first choice for tanking, but it gives you way more survivability.

    If your unsure, I would go with the 6/2/2.

    Thanks for the informative post, this certainly cleared thoughts about my Blademaster.

    for a more accurate and point sparing build

    set your str to [(level)x3]+2

    it's just enough to equip your axe and the rest of the points can go to more important things like dex and vit

    Im not sure but ive been stacking 2 str and 3 dex from lvl20 to what now is my lvl.. is this a good idea or get a reset note?

    Something seems amiss....2str per level is not going to allow you to carry the latest axes or wear the latest Heavy. As a BM, your going to want to spend most of your time in Heavy. And to wear heavy you need a Min of 2.5str per level. If your an Axe build you need 3str per level.

    I would like to see where your stats are right now. With equip and without equip, and what is your weapon of choice? That build is a Light armor, fist build, and not really the easiest way to go.

    At level 65, to wear your latest Heavy gear you need a STR of 197. IF you have that, then right now your fine. You can find Str bonuses in your gear, getting you to that number.

    If your way off from that, you may need to restat. either that or start dumping mass str into your attribute points....Just for fun, here is a web site I like to play with, helps with stats and gears.
