My thanks to you for helping a crazy barb with her idea of trying to solo the level 32 Elite mob Farng at level 29. I didn't see your name since you were on the edge of my screen, but your buffs were much appreciated. I can only imagine what went through your mind when you saw a blue named tiger scratching at a boss by herself... but it worked.
Note to anyone else foolish enough to attempt to solo Farng at 29 with a non-Vit barb: Bring a Tree of Protection, pots, and a charm XD He actually isn't too troublesome with those along ^x^
Again, thanks to you, my nameless Cleric benefactor! b:victory

i love those clerics who take the time to randomly buff me b:dirty i know it uses a lot of your mp to cast buffs, but us non cleric types really do appreciate it.the good Starr0 -
just saying wizard without genie soloed farng no problem...might wanna fic your build0
-
uh yea i soloed farng when i was level 29 you might want to take Hudini's advice your doing something wrong0

No, her build is fine. Leve 29 Barbs get outdamaged by Farng so much that it's really just a battle to see whose HP gives out first. With a charm/pots, it's easy, but otherwise, there is no soloing gonna happen. You miss too much and don't hit hard enough for that.
And to the guy who solo'd farng as a wizard: I'm calling shenanigans. Unless you're a Heavy Armor build, or kited him across the countryside, I find that impossible.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Funny, I do believe I managed to solo Farng just fine myself as well.
This thread is simply to thank the Cleric that cast the buffs on me as I was starting, since I didn't ask for help, and didn't see their name, and they left well before I finished fighting the mob.
As for Wizard solo: Kite + Morning Dew + DD = Dead Farng, I'm sure. I teamed it on my wizard since my husband had the quest as well, so this was my first solo attempt.
And as for my barb build: High Dex Heavy, and it's working just fine. I rarely miss, I crit often, and my HP is still close to where it would be if I had gone with a more tanklike build. I do very nice DOT without the misses, and within the next 5 levels or so I won't ever have to put points into Dex again. I know it's unconventional, and generally frowned upon in the Barb community but y'know what? It works for me.Leader of Howl on Harshlands (Recruiting.)

I did with my mage on LC too. It's really pretty simple. Gush. run run run. Gush. run run run. Occassionally he will get close, in which point you distance shrink and continue on.0

Dex barb actually works... my friend beefums on LC restat to pure dex, and he can still tank (although he has always hated tanking anything)... He loves his Unicorn. lmao0 -

Haha yeah, it was awesome. I love being able to watch my HP bar drop without fear of the next hit killing me (wizard main). He got me down to about 70% a lot of times but my natural regen, boosted by Life Powder, kept it from ticking at 50% for the most part. That and some pink and red pots and Tree. He was actually less annoying to fight than FlorafangStacking poison gets no love from me.

Didn't Distance Shrink require Aware of Harmony? And you have to kill Farng to get Harmony. I didn't kite Farng solo on my Wiz 'cause my hubby was tanking it on his BM, I gave him and a guildie aggro and just DD'd and healed hubby from a bit back. Faster that wayEspecially with a 6x guildie casting too lol.

Female barb? Hell yeah! I totally was gonna make a female barb called BelleFemme. I thought it would be hilarious. I'm still mad I didn't. T.T[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

You were almost bequethed the Bottom of the Page Curse!
PURE dex? Ouch. I don't want to know what that does to HP bar and regen XD Probably nice on crits and arrow damage though, but I'd like to keep my skills viableAnd they need Str. So just Dex Hybrid for me.
Or more like, Get All The Dex You'll Need Right Away. Definitely makes things less depressing without the missesBelleFemme - Harshlands wrote: »Female barb? Hell yeah! I totally was gonna make a female barb called BelleFemme. I thought it would be hilarious. I'm still mad I didn't. T.T

I guess it's not a pure dex build cause he does have strength for his calamities, but I'm pretty sure his vit is 3 right now. The first time he restatted was just as an experiment to see how it would work.... he's gone back and fourth between vit and dex a few times. He doesn't really quest/fb/hh at all and he's been lvl81 for a month or two now, despite playing daily. lol He even created a faction for himself... Bowbarian.0 -

I have heard of these Bowbarians, met a lowlevel one on Harshlands a while back that got me thinking. But I didn't think any high levels had seriously tried it.
I went for the high dex build I'm using after realizing how unbearably painful 4dex per level would be to make a bowbarb. *shudder* I compromised - Armor at current level, FB/Reward weapons at their levels, no NPC weapons. I'll be able to use the Stashbox Bow (lev 20) at about level 35 when I reach my self-imposed dex cap. The dex cap will cover my armor needs at endgame XDLeader of Howl on Harshlands (Recruiting.)

Well he's always outside west gate and he does experiment a lot. Has full 8x gear and has enough dex to use a unicorn.... lol I don't know how many times he restatted... I swear he's addicted to it, but it works for him. He manages to pk people at his level or higher, with his bow even. He loves every second of it too. lol Great guy, and gotta love him for selling me HH80 heavy chest for 500k and Lion axes for 1.5m.0 -

Well I'm a fail VenoI prefer being the ragdoll (Wizard) or the tank pet (Barb), rather than the puppetmaster

Hmmm... a Current Level bow and a Current Level barb weapon both do about the same Normal Attack damage. Not sure what level the Unicorn bow is for, but with enough strength, his pdef is probably nice enough to kite other melee players to death. Part of the problem with PVP as a barb is that you have all the health in the world to stand up to attacks, but ranged attackers make it hard for you to attack back by kiting. Stalemate. But if you still have okay HP, good pdef, and ranged attacks to counter the kiting... it becomes a more even contest of whose HP holds out better. And barbs have lovely pdef for strength. A 3-vit barb probably has a comparable health bar to other classes except BM.
Interesting indeed. But I'm still not gonna go crazybow.Leader of Howl on Harshlands (Recruiting.)
